managed to get in touch with the CEO - strange shareprice movements due to illiquidity of stock, not business performance and they intend to proceed with sharebuybacks this year - seems to make sense to me. I continue to hold & buy, can wait for the turnaround.

Thats just because of the general market crash. The share price will recover, especially as we are approaching the summer season. I'm not holding currently, but I quite like the look of these, I think there could be a good return on the share price

funny thing is, no real change in results since their Sep08 results statement and yet the shareprice has fallen 75% from 60p to 15p

XXIC is a ukrainian property play I read it was Aims biggest faller last year was down to 7p and now 30p. Think it was in the 1000s last year.

Probably wished you had not asked !

One mm bidding 13p, next is just 11p !

One mm offering 16p next is 18p.

A bit iffy especially when it's wins on the bid !

where do they get the net debt figure from? I thought they looked pretty ungeared from the balance sheet, though I could be missing something.

bizarre series of trades today (and yesterday) - seems to have been a distressed seller, but a buyer of big quantities too - no doubt the market makers are making the biggest profits of all

always nice when a share in tight supply announces good results ;)

focusing on growth segments

and good debt position:

The Group's net debt was GBP 2.99 million as at 31 December 2008, compared to GBP 3.13 million as at 31 December 2007.

Always was cheap on the uncertainties of Ukraine politicals. Nevertheless, reassuring results.

results tomorrow

from a poster today (iii board for this share):

UKR (ukrproduct) I have come across this company and I believe it has significant potential for retracement. A few points:
- profit making
- total asset value approx £25m
- market capital 4.07m
- significant growth since flotation
- diversifying (see RNS 26/11/2008)
- financially stable (see RNS 17/12/2008)
- 52 week high 0.72p
- 67% management shareholding, further 25% by institutions
Results due tomorrow. Oversold in my opinion. DYOR.

Agree, Darcon.

Investors seem reluctant to put money into Ukraine (or any parts of Eastern Europe) whilst each country is at risk of defaulting on its sovereign debt. This, coupled with the ludicrous spread (7-11p) which could see you down by 36% immediately if you can't trade within the spread, means UKR will be unloved until liquidity returns to the stock.

I don't follow UKR as closely as I once did but if they can at least match the dissappointing first half performance, then EPS of 4.5-5p would show just how cheap the stock has become.

This share looks very undervalued. Ukraine may be suffering but people still have to eat so this company should be able to survive the crisis intact

You may be right about the politcs but the numbers are certainly distracting.

Trading statement less than two months ago:
The Group's profit after tax in the second half of 2008 is now anticipated to be in line with the first half of the year.

That sounds close to £2M after tax profit for the year. A drop from last year's £3.26M presumably accompanied by a dividend drop to .8 or .9p overall.

Still a 9% yield for a company valued at £5.6M
£7M debt but well covered by assets (£10M current +£12M fixed)

Surely a buy on fundamentals but I must admit I haven't the foggiest idea about the Ukrainian hryvnia (local currency) or the country's prospects

Dropping like a stone today.
Together with the Uke economy, sad to say.
best to avoid until sorted out politically.

Assuming Russia & Ukraine can sort themselves out, UKR looks interesting after 29th Jan.

Satisfactory trading statement. Improving branded business

Looks like a good investment even allowing for illiquid & foreign. But what caught my interest is the EGM. Sole agenda item to authorise purchase up to 20% of company shares.
Seems like the directors have got fed-up with the share price undervalue & plan to do something about it. They're not heavily in debt & looks like a pretty good use of company funds.

Surprised I haven't seen anything about this. Under different market conditions I would have expected a positive response to this news.
