Just checking, infact it seems that greenwood has reduced his stake from 10% to 5.7% over the year or so. The ones who have really been adding are the funds under the Montpelier holding now >20%.

It would be interesting to email or phonne them and see what they intend to do regarding the silly discount. Buying back the shares although helping increase NAV further is not helping the share price.

Hi Skyship, dont give me more credit than I deserve but its nice to have some company here. I stumbled upon this last year whilst looking for bombed out ukraine stock. I got in at the low $2 then all of a sudden it was marked up 50% for christmas so cashed in and now i'm back in low 2's again. Its very illiquid and as has proved before can move quickly. I only stumbled upon Greenwood last week, up till then had no knowledge of him.

The fund managers need to do something imo, the discount is ridiculous, they must feel embarrassed. I do hope thhis Greenwood is here to press this point.

Long term outlook clearly at this level you're never going to lose here, whatever happens imo.

Enviro - again, where do you find them!?#~

Read yr mention on the HPEQ thread, incidentally, great to see them tick up again to 190p bid today.

What made me look further is the 7% stake taken by my namesake Nick Greenwood. During the "Split" days he was one of three Nick Greenwoods playing the game - he (ex-warburgs) & the iimia fund manager Nick Greenwood - both playing in size; then me - a smalltime SIPP investor!

My small SIPP grew quite nicely thanks to the Zeros; and the JDT thread is a legacy of those halcyon days of hotwired profits.

The ex-warburg NG always declared himself as Nick Greenwood rather than Nick John Greenwood - so who knows, there may be another of us out there!

Whatever - I suspect he is the one; and even though fallible (he like many others was caught in the Izodia scandal), he is a class act and one to follow.

The same might be said of you of course(!?) - so I've taken a small number on board - just 5k @ $2.45.

Hargreaves Lansdown claim UKRO is suspended - there's no announcement, so I presume they're making one of their increasingly common errors?

enviro, he's a private investor/trust arb. He made a lot of money during the splits crisis when he took big positions in very beaten down trusts - see the old JDT thread. In recent years he's only appeared infrequently on rns ie this one, and a couple of winding up hedge funds.

On the back of this news, todays revaluation will amount to an increase of some $765,000 or around 3 percent of current NAV, thats always welcome.

NAV should be around $5.15 then.

Ukraine is expected to maintain its status as one of the |
| | fastest growing economies in the region with real GDP to |
| | advance by 5.5% this year and 4.5% in 2011.The IMF's new |
| | lending program ($15bn) will substantially ease Ukraine's |
| | budget deficit financing pressures for the rest of the |
| | year. Cooperation with the Fund will remain a key factor |
| | for Ukraine to ensure that external financing remains |
| | cheap and relatively easily accessible in 2011. S&P have |
| | upgraded Ukraine's sovereign rating by one notch to B+ on |
| | the back of IMF deal and other rating agencies are |
| | expected to follow suit.

Ukraine's political risk has gone down considerably since |
| | a new president was elected in February 2010. The new |
| | Cabinet is better suited to implement unpopular measures |
| | demanded by International Financial Institutions. The |
| | ruling coalition enjoys a sufficient majority in Verkhovna |
| | Rada (Ukrainian parliament) to pass legislation backing |
| | the government's reform program. With next regular |
| | parliamentary elections not due until late 2012 and |
| | political negotiations going on to schedule local |
| | elections for end-October 2010, the new administration is |
| | close to securing for itself the rare prospect of more |
| | than two years without major elections - and thus a window |
| | of opportunity for many necessary but unpopular reforms |
| | which previous Ukrainian governments were hesitant about.
