26/2/2008 12:13 | Short but sweet: United Drug plc Annual General Meeting Tuesday, 26 February 2008 Chairman's Statement Dublin and London, Tuesday, 26 February 2008: Our Interim Management Statement, issued on 7 February stated that overall group performance for the first quarter was well ahead of the corresponding period last year, in line with our expectations. I am pleased to confirm that this trend has continued through January. We continue to see opportunities to expand our businesses both through acquisition and organically, and we have a strong balance sheet allowing us to fund such opportunities. The good trading conditions being experienced points to another successful year for your company. Ronnie Kells Chairman | liarspoker
26/2/2008 07:25 | Scrips due today. :O) I was sort of hoping for an AGM statement today but the company already released a T/S on the 7th of this month. Last year however they released an AGM statement on the 27/2 and a T/S on the 23/3. I'm not holding my breath though. Looks like 280p is acting as support. | liarspoker
19/2/2008 18:17 | Actually I meant to say that I won't be going to the AGM. I confused the Anglo AGM with the UDG AGM. Also I did not receive my scrips yet but I did receive my mandate form ( which of course is already marked ). | liarspoker
19/2/2008 16:20 | Ok here's a little dividend exercise: Since I have been a holder UDG dividends have increased by 15% p/a. Therefore my divi yield is currently a little over 4%. So according to the article if the divies keep increasing by 15% p/a over the next 10 years ( which it could looking at the past 20 years and future prospects ) then my yield will be around 16.5%. If the then divi is about 1.8% of the share price which it historically has been then we can expect UDGs share price to be just over 16 Euro - a 4 bagger from here. Makes sense too since 15% growth doubles a share price in 5 years. Therefore 4 Euro doubled in 5 years is 8 Euro which when doubled over the next 5 years = 16 Euro ( ah - behold the magic of compounding :O) | liarspoker
19/2/2008 16:11 | Hi Slasher - any chance of posting the Phoenix write up ? I don't buy the Phoenix myself but my dentist has them in his office so I usually ask if I can take his old copies when I am in there. Didn't go to the AGM. It'll cost me about a 100 Euro to make a return trip and the time spend sitting on the train wouldn't be worth it. I'll try to coincide the AGM with a trip to the in-laws up there though ( same with Anglo AGM ). I got my scrips too. :O) | liarspoker
10/2/2008 01:06 | Hi Liars. UDG get a good write up in the phoenix magazine by Goldhawk. Do you ever read it. Mite take a day off work to go to AGM at end of month. U going to go this year? Scips arrived in post a week ago :) | slasher16

08/2/2008 08:25 | Trading well in Q1 and outlook good. :O) | liarspoker
05/2/2008 08:21 | Oops - missed this last rise to 300p. Looks like a small double top though....... | liarspoker
16/1/2008 19:35 | Well done, LTHs! Patience rewarded. D | dassera
16/1/2008 12:52 | Hard to say whether this is breakout or not. I think its just cause of the movement on sterling that we are pushing new highs | slasher16
16/1/2008 12:10 | Looking very horny. :O) | liarspoker
10/1/2008 13:14 | I see that NCB has increased its price target for UDG from 4 Euro to 4.40 Euro citing that at the moment UDG trades at a slight discount to Celesio but has both greater earnings growth and earnings visibility therefore, they say, UDG should trade at a 10% premium to Celesio. I tend to agree with that. | liarspoker
07/1/2008 23:18 | Hmmmm - well I am short UDG in the stock challenge but of course I remain long in reality. Does that mean though that when I go short in the stock challenge that the share price rises in reality ? 300p soon anyone ? ( of course since I've said that the share price will now fall back, I'd put a tenner on it ). | liarspoker
04/1/2008 16:20 | Another good day ( hopefully I won't speak to soon ). Higher highs and higher lows is what I like to see. :O) Look at the 20 year record of these guys - solid growth each and every year. Lovely really yet there are only a few guys on the ADVFN threads holding this. Everyone wants to get rich fast but the secret is to buy stocks like this and just hold. Sure when a bullmarket arrives you can speculate on small caps with enormous success but a share like UDG has to be a backbone of every portfolio imo. | liarspoker
03/1/2008 17:28 | Another interesting day. I wonder if we'll follow the same pattern as last year. We can see a peak at the start of January followed by a high in April before the summer lull. Slasher - the following paragraph from the Final results should help with your dividend question: 'The share alternative election/mandate forms, setting out the details of the share alternative offer and the procedures to be followed, will be posted to shareholders in January 2008. Payments in respect of the final dividend or, alternatively, share certificates will be posted on 26 February 2008 to holders of ordinary shares whose names appear on the Company's register at the close of business on 30 November 2007.' | liarspoker
31/12/2007 20:25 | Happy new year guys. UDGs excellent earnings growth now being recognised. Im saying all along i think they are worth 5euro which is about 3.50 GBP. Im not calling anyhting though cause as they have broken GBp price they are still 3.95euro on the ISeq chart. They have done this a few times before. Dont care too much anyway as i am a 20 year holder. Liars when are we getting our scrips? | slasher16
28/12/2007 14:24 | Happy new year to you too Cambo. :O) | liarspoker
28/12/2007 14:19 | LOL Happy New Year, dont worry once I'm gone the price will rise. | cambium
28/12/2007 14:16 | Typical Cambo posts and the price drops. ;o) Mrs is fine. Baby due in about 2 weeks. No probs re the ramps but I am happy staying mostly in cash atm. I still hold about 10 shares but only to a maximum of +- Euro 10K on the majority of them. I'm happy to hold those 10 for a year and will add once the market definitely turns. | liarspoker
28/12/2007 14:10 | afternoon liars, hows the missus? Check out CHTR, CCC and KLR if I am allowed a ramp! | cambium
28/12/2007 13:59 | Stg 3.50 would be nice. I am sure that we'll get there in the longer term but short term I hate making calls. I don't have a crystal ball although having one would make the future a lot clearer. :O) Short term guessing is part of speculative activities ( which, of course, I participate in as well ). However my core UDG holding is an investment so I am happy to hold onto it whatever the price will do. Buffett himself said something like 'Don't worry about the price of your shares now or tomorrow, worry about them in 20 years time when you are about to cash them in.' I'm taking the same attitute with UDG although my guess is that they won't last another 20 years. They'll eventually get taken out by one of the larger European players imo. Just compare UDG growth to their growth and you'll see that UDG is the best in the business even though ( or perhaps because ) they are a much smaller company. | liarspoker
28/12/2007 13:00 | Aye Liars, nice breakout confirmation...if it holds. Question is where to next....my view fwiw £3.50.... but open to alternative views obviously. Always difficult to predict are breakouts. | johnnyad
28/12/2007 08:04 | Are ye watching Johnny & Slasher ? Could see 300p for the first time fairly soon. Next trading statement is at the end of February 2008. | liarspoker
20/12/2007 16:41 | No probs - You have a good X-mas too JohnnyAD. :O) | liarspoker |
