Hmm - seem to have made a BIG mistake buying back into these recently - already down 10% - Is it a Woodford holding; or did I already ask that?

Where there's muck... ;)

(Or more on point - everything has a price. Not holding UAI here).

I don't disagree with the comments here. Stand by everything I said though. I haven't been invested in U&I for some years - got out about even. A profit on a dog dirt is a profit, I agree.

JL9 I started investing in UAI in April 2017. So far it's been a 1.5 bagger at current share price and including div's. I hold 76 stocks so I've not given UAI as much attention as I should. There are some dodgy people on BODs you just have to live with it. What I can tell you investing is 80% psychology and being angry obsessive and attached are all recipes for losing money. Put your losses behind you and move on to another stock. You will be much happier.

@JL9 - divi record would suggest otherwise.

So investors who bought at 180 and sold at 240 transferred wealth to ???

You got to understand: This outfit is a machine for transferring wealth from shareholders to corporate executives."Ah", you'll say, "but can't it be taken over so that value is realised?" No is the answer. They've seen to that as they've seen to EVERYTHING. The more investors wise up around this the lower the shares will tend to settle in the market. 40% discount, 50% discount, 70% discount... This is the hole in the 'everything has a price' argument. Trying to value this from a shareholder perspective is a contradiction in terms. This is why I call it a pure 'greater fool' play. As long as people understand this and still think they can trade it - fine, go ahead. Just don't be in any doubt about this outfit. Know what it is.

Marx to Weiner: Well done son, you fu*ked them over again. Clearly there's nothing more I can teach you.

Keep it up son.

2018 was another good year for Commercial Property - but not for UAI it would seem: Earnings DOWN; Dividend DOWN; NAV down; share price DOWN.

As I have often posted on the Commercial Property thread (CP+); one strategy that has served me very well over the years is always to BUY when I find a 40% NAV discount.

So, on the basis that everything has a price, I'm back in for a few at just under 164p after reading the Simon Thompson update in his IC Online column today.

I have a small holding left in UAI my average price is about 150p, so we could end up there soon. I certainly will be buying in once we've reached the bottom. It's at a very good discount to NAV and should continue to pay reasonable dividends. The company intends to sell its assets at a good price and is willing to hang on to them until the timing gets is right. It's doing allot of PPP developments with local government participation. I do not UAI going bust any time soon. The earnings are going to be lumpy. Time will tell.

From my post no. 1231 - after some huge purchases by Richard Upton and his Wife -

"This share seems too good to be true (etc).
And I have known Directors to be less well-informed than shareholders think.... Just a thought or two..."

Unfortunately my Post also said I had bought some..... why don't I listen to my own adfvice?

Stupidboypike. That is a greater fool calculation and not a valuation calculation. Can't say.

Dire results again. Perhaps all the cheerleaders will finally admit they were wrong. Company run for the benefit of management and not shareholders.
