From a poster on LSE :

Dear Alphonse,Thank you for your enquiry. The Company did licence Megawatt Class electric motor technology for use in Oil & Gas industry related products to Calnetix, however, the particulars of the deal are confidential and I cannot share any at present.I thank you for your continued interest in Turbo Power Systems Inc.RegardsCharles Rendell

Just frustrating not being able to pin a value on this but revenue is growing at a pace and from different sources in new markets.

Looks like trading update will be tomorrow then, was the 4th last year, unless they slip it in today or after close. Hopefully those cost cutting measures and the various deals they've signed will become apparent.

Contract Value!

Now you don't start recruiting after months of serious cost cutting unless the contract is big enough to warrant it!

Charles Rendell, chief finance officer for Turbo Power Systems, said: "We're very pleased to have secured contracts with the UK Power Network - it's very good news in that it takes us into a whole new market.

"We can't talk about how much the contract is worth for commercial reasons but it is significant. If you look to the future, where energy distribution is going, it's renewables."

There are another five electricity boards across the country which will be queueing up for this device in the near future imho!

Carlos Neves, Chief Executive Officer, said:

"We are pleased that revenue in Q2 grew by 26% over Q1, with order intake in line with Q1, as certain expected orders were delayed into the second half of 2014. We were able to continue to focus on our cost reduction programme, reducing our total expenses by 16% quarter-upon-quarter and during the first half as a whole, significantly improved the level of cash outflows from operations and reduced the amount of new external financing drawn from our major shareholder.

We remain confident in our prospects for the rest of the financial year, with opportunities available where TPS's excellence in manufacture of innovative designs and ability to implement new ideas are valued."

First half of year has been tough but with costs cut to the bone I am expecting profitability in second half.

New Market/Contract If this gets rolled out to the full national grid!

Follow-on Manufacturing Contract

TPS, the innovative high-speed electrical machines and power electronic systems provider, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by UK Power Networks to supply production units for the Company's ground-breaking new design of electrical energy controller for trials on the electricity distribution networks in the London and Brighton areas. This contract follows the award of the design contract earlier in the year.

The project is part of UK Power Networks Flexible Urban Networks Low Voltage (FUN-LV) project and will trial the innovative use of power electronics devices on low voltage distribution networks. It is a Low Carbon Network Fund (LCNF) Tier 2 project that was awarded by the Office of the Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem). More information about UK Power Networks innovation projects can be found at ukpowernetworks.co.uk/innovation

TPS's excellence in manufacture of innovative designs and ability to implement new ideas is reinforced by UK Power Networks award of the units manufacturing to the Company. These units will be manufactured during 2014 and 2015.

Carlos Neves, Chief Executive Officer, said:

"The award of the manufacturing contract is part of TPS's drive to become the reference standard in this market. The Company has already demonstrated this leadership with the award of the design phase and we are pleased that UK Power Networks acknowledges TPS's manufacturing excellence as well. Turbo Power Systems' new design of electrical energy controller optimises the use of existing network capacity to accommodate increased loadings for renewable energy generation, whilst additionally supporting the addition of new homes and offices within the capacity of installed networks."

Missed This!

Saving money and going green, the TPS way

POSTED ON JULY 17TH, 2014 · FILED UNDER NEWS

The majority of electricity consumed by TPS for test of its electrical products has, up to recent times, been burnt off as waste heat in load-banks. To address this, a novel power electronic converter capable of re-cycling this energy has been developed by TPS' engineering team to reduce electricity consumption by up to 90%; significantly reducing energy costs whilst improving the company's green credentials.

Beyond these savings, the innovation has eliminated the need for an additional generating set to meet factory demand at times of peak consumption, creating a further saving through the avoidance of additional power plant hire.
Energy recycling unit
Power to the people.....
The energy recycling project was suggested by TPS employees through the Stakeholder Forum – a quarterly meeting seeking out the opinions and involvement of employees in the day to day running of the business. Illustrated below, the recycling unit uses one of our modified variable speed power electronic motor drives to feed energy back to the incoming supply.

Contact Turbo Power Systems to see how we can help you reduce your electricity bill at a time of ever increasing energy costs.

Anybody know how many of TPS's auxiliary power units are fitted into each railway carriage?

Trying to get a feel for the crossrail (possible cough) contract.

Half yearly report due early august with some updates re progress on all fronts.

This moves on very little trading pressure either way as 89.4% not in circulation.

This is fantastic for a company valued at 5 million to have a contract of 3.5 mil. However its a start and a lot more contracts need to be won to rerate this stock.
A long suffering shareholder.

The contracts are coming just delayed owing to extended negotiations to ensure profitable!

Costs now under control and new contract in a new market.

Not quite the bells and whistles I had hoped for but a steady rise in anticipation of contract news which are not to far away.

I am comfortable to hold more buys than sells and MM drop the price?

More patience but not that long imho.

Good news about the new market, if it proves beneficial then good scope here. Loan extension also positive. Results ok with loss steady and costs down...
