Is the woke FT is too polite to ask Dorothy Thompson - celebrated woman boss - why she stepped down from Tullow declaring it is “now well positioned for a positive and sustainable future” but without mitigating its debt burden, which seems the nub of its dilemma?

thanks for posting franky and tend to agree with you Badger. TLW don't have any cash to invest in Kenya. Africa Oil don't have any cash to invest in Kenya. Total have loads of cash BUT a lot of competing projects with superior returns; it is not exactly at the top of their development queue. Basically none of the existing partners are able to, or willing to take the project forwards. Hence the need for a 100% sale to somebody else which appears unlikely at the current time. Dunno why TLW don't just write it off and move on.

Webinar is for 'shareholder engagement'. Waste of money and managements time if you ask me. Unless they tell us something new over and above recent results webcast (which is unlikely).

IR response To AOI article yesterday Our position has not changed. Tullow and its JV Partners engagements to secure a strategic partner for the development project in Kenya are ongoing. We have not recognised an impairment in Kenya and don't see Partner impairments as having an impact on the process to secure a strategic partner. Kenya continues to remain an important asset in Tullow's development portfolio, with the potential to add material reserves and create value for shareholders.

I ve emailed TLW investor relations regarding the Africa intelligence article , let's see what they have to say on it ..
