Brent close to $50. Buy and hold oilers. China expected to have a double digit increase in oil imports next year. US shale looks like its reached a plateau and OPEC cuts all bode well for oil prices.

ifthecapfits - If they want to gamble their profits and even their money, I say good luck to them because for a long term investor, it does not make a difference if it goes up or down tomorrow. For gamblers it'll be different. They depend on a 50/50 outcome. Expect many will close before end of session though - I mean the wise ones ...

All good news from Tullow, well above recent oil price low of $42 but Tullow's share price is hitting new lows.... groan!

Half year results on Wednesday. If they are as promising as the recent trading update we could see quite a short squeeze, especially as this is currently the 4th highest shorted share with over 14%.

Perhaps the large short positions opened are suppressing and influencing ? I am long and see these as a solid hold.
