I personally think it is both. Selling begets selling. Fear begets selling. For some it is better to take any profit just in case. Sendible.Mm’s drop price....they call it a shake-out. Fragile holders sell “ just in case”. And why not? They get a profit and mm’s get their shares.
Impossible to prove.
But seen it time and time again.
This could be blamedcon WTI but no other oil shares plummeted like this ( Tullow of course but only 3%). Bog oilies have risen. Trin slumped 10% on 2 sales. That begat more selling to crystallize profit IMO.
WTI is down as a result of de-escalation but nothing materially has changed re. Trin and it had risen before Solemaini’s demise.

Do you think it's market makers manipulation or PIs selling. If it is PIs o can't begrudge someone making A quick profit

I absolutely believe the company should be doing more. Doing anything at all would help!!
Why they consistentlyvrefuse a dividend os beyond me. It has nothing to do with Tgal funding and would add credibility to the company and help retain investors.
Doh!
Look at all the 5-20% ers selling out today!!

Nocents Thanks for your response!I am still very hopeful that in the long term we can make money in TRIN. It is very undervalued! I would not want to sell out completely but genuinely we considering whether I should reduce my exposure to TRIN at the next ramp. I'm not a newbie to the market and I know that manipulation exists but not to the extent where a couple of sells can tank the SP! I think TRIN is more exposed to manipulation because of the lack of liquidity and poor volumes. They are therefore easier to manipulate. TRIN don't have much of a voice within the private investors.I believe the company should be doing more to support the SP!

Lol ! OT....wtfdik ? Funny !
Probably much more than you think.
Wwick ...yet again I respect your points. But like Princebuster...IR17;m just shagged out now!! Like being manacled to a roller-coaster.
I don’t need anyone to “caveat emptor” me if they do though. Yer pays yer money.....I know that.
7 yrs is a long long part of a life and it has been hellish and I am not young. End. I resonate with OT and wwick and Princebuster. All valid. And..yes volatility expected but some of us are obviously weary.
Oili...I particularly resonated with your comments. You are suffering from Trinnitus Experientius. It is a very debilitating condition which arises from recognition of unpalatable truths. Treatable and curable. 1) Recognize truth about how market is manipulated across the board !! Not just in Trin 2)sell out if had enough 3) Have faith and patience4) other possible treatments.
You are knowledgeable and do your homework on shares well. You are a rational and well-organized investor. It is very very hard to find a non-manipulated share in the stock market now thoigh. It’s just that Trin is low volume much of the time. BP/Shell/HSBC...hard to manipulate and need big volume. Even non stamp duty shares like Plus 500 or PFC need significant AT movement to manipulate. Trin is still deeply undervalued and in my mind the market would love your shares at 13p and I don’t blame you. I invest in other shares far more manipulated than Trin ( eg Stobart or Tullow). My first share was BT in 1986. I’ve been around a while. Market is genuinely massaged and controlled by the wide-boys and sometimes shorters now and not purely value based. I resonate with you because you are not wrong but even with your considerable and correct homework we still have to tolerate a casino market. Is Trin worse than most others? Possibly.
I agree fully about the management style though. It comes down to the obstinacy of the MD to respect the small-time shareholder and the truth about the need to market one’s wares in the shop window if one wants customers.

It took 17 days to move from 8.3 to 13.5 with NO company news. When "step change" comes we wont have to wait 17 days.

Jeremy has indicated Q3 2020 (maybe Q4) for this "direction to a step change". Everything before this is noise.

"NOC, I expect volatility. Personally, as a LTH, until direction to a step change is determined I wish for one thing, that is YoY cash growth. I do not mind how this is achieved, but I am pleased TRIN concentrate of working smarter, not only on production growth."

I am still feeling quite optimistic and think this will get back on an upward trend today / tomorrow. Still expect strong results too (Spell, keep those twitter posts coming!) and a continued recovery in the share price but wtfdik

Nocents you are probably right! You are more experienced with TRIN and have been here longer than most of us so I respect your opinion but now I'm starting to get despondent and lose faith! Do I want to be invested in a play thing for market makers? Something that can be so easily manipulated by a couple of sales? I'm really starting to think about reducing when get back to 13p again. We have the bigger wall at 15p where even more people will want to derisk! Also management are too quiet and never want to defend the SP!

I do however think that this is a panic stations strategy to relieve holders of their shares.

I did expect this . Mentioned it yesterday. Just came a little early. The 5-20%ers are always gonna cash in. Always have. It’s what keeps Trin suppressed time after time as it is a low volume share affected by p/i’s. Not a larger volume AT dominated share like PFC/Stob/Glen Plus 500 etc....all stamp -duty free. Small volumes drive this share a lot of the time so the quick profiteers dominate the share price. Mm ...it’s stubbornness together with the fact I know this company inside out and it’s solid and the movements can be just as quick upwards on media or good news. And it’s not indebted or high risk. I have lost a total fortune by being scammed on the stock market. Trin are too conservative imo but the books balance and with madly superhuman almost impossible patience I think it may pay off.
As usual it is at the moment a market plaything. Only 2 small sells and it plummets. Says it all.

People buying in the 10's will be cashing in on their 20% traders profit.Bound to happen as has always happened in this share with no stamp duty making it that much more attractive. Personally, not being a trader, I actually find it less stressful to know that eventually value will surface and have become a pragmatic holder with a more philosophical stance on this company...its called patience...or in nocents case stubborness...but in both cases it will eventually pay off :-))

And theres why i cant be excited by 12p..with trin its always a very quick return back. Also with pending results..the excitement that always builds around this time..is always quickly squashed with an share price drop..even if results are good!! Again i say..this is just facts.
