#1Knocker, I was waiting for the maiden dividend to buy in and did not quite get a foot in the door.. :o)

i bought this as a long term hold. I liked the management, and thought they would build the business and look to having some of their more speculative investments contributing revenue before looking for an exit. I even looked forward to the day a dividend would be paid .....

i am not so chuffed with the management now.

I shall come out ahead, but it grieves me that having sold my entire holding a while back at 58 because the share price seemed to be getting ahead of events I bought back pretty quickly at 58 (much too quickly in the event - i subsequently topped up at 31), contenting myself with a small profit on the turn as I regarded the holding as a LTH rather than a trading play.

So much for the LTH.

I really feel for anyone who bought in the 50s and is going to be exiting at a loss.

the potential in TRR is the thing. 22 assets that hopefully will all contribute at some point the most obvious is Thacker Pass. I would rather the undervalued TRR in my portfolio that will have large gains in the future.

They have 6 royalties TRR have 21! They are getting a bargain and vastly increasing their portfolio!

Majority of TRR shares are held by other funds like Blackrock BRWM.

TRR is one of the lowest valued royalty companies at 50% of NAV. In around 2 years it will start paying a dividend and the mcap will rise to 100% of NAV.
It may not be a linear rise.

I take a much simpler view of this share and have no interest in big player comparables, their prospects are good, should the price eventually reach 60-70p and they start to pay dividends as the company matures, a 3% dividend yield at 60-70p gives me a 6% yield on my book cost and a decent capital gain which is why I invested and on a long term view.

An NAV based on a NPV is a nonsense price to pay for a share. It amounts to paying up front for all discounted future income. What mug wanting a profit on his investment would do that ? It's a lazy (elastic) way to 'value' (and gives a greatly inflated price for a company to trumpet, and for brokers to flog) and is never remotely approached in practice except, perhaps, in early days (as for TRR) when a share is not easy to value and is run up on speculation. TRR will eventually (when in regular, foreseeable, profit) be valued on a PER or yield basis, like WPM and the like.

The lithium price in 2024 is of no consequence to TRR as Lithium America will not be producing lithium until 2026. TRR has never expected income from Li this year or next so not sure why you think your comments are relevant. The Gold royalties and takeoffs are producing income and the current high gold price is likely to be sustained according to many analysts and commentators.
The initial production from Thacker Pass is going to General Motors who are their largest shareholder. It will be the case that a minimum lithium price has been agreed to make the project profitable so personally I am comfortable that the Thacker Pass royalty will be a very profitable investment for TRR.

It is the nature of royalty companies that some of their cash flows are in the future and it has always been the case that Thacker Pass won’t start producing until 2026. However a royalty has a value before it produces cash flow and the value of the Thacker Pass royalty will have just increased substantially on todays derisking of the financing of the project.
Fortunately our gold royalties and offtake agreements are producing cash and that will increase with the strong rising gold price. Equinox Gold large new Greenstone mine is about to go into production and TRR has an offtake agreement in place as it does over a number of Equinox Gold mines. Trr also has income producing royalties over copper and iron ore.
I imagine TRR will issue an RNS about todays news from Lithium America and Adam will follow that up with interviews to further explain its importance to the value of the Royalty.
