31/10/2014 17:44 | A decent non-exec will have a good sniff around and kick the tyres before signing up. On that basis I would see it as positive as he looks to be well qualified. Can't see TCN get re-rated until there is evidence of improved trading/better trading update. | meijiman
30/10/2014 07:27 | I suppose that appointing a new non-exec is a good sign? apad | apad
24/10/2014 11:07 | I'm talking my own book as have plenty mostly bt higher up! Happy to watch developments. But certainly Caterpillar has usually been a good lead (lagged) indicator. | meijiman
24/10/2014 10:36 | No need to take the risk of buying until TCN shows it isn't drowning, mej. apad | apad
24/10/2014 09:53 | That has normally been seen as a reliable indicator of trading outlook so very much a positive. Still think though that TCN has particular issues linked to its activities in the USA and China. Inclined to see this as a buy at current levels. | meijiman
24/10/2014 09:24 | Caterpillar upbeat on growth prospects Equipment maker eyes change of tack in developed economies apad | apad
07/10/2014 12:02 | heading back to sub 10p.china and the usa will be major headaches. | charo
07/10/2014 10:43 | Agreed Pug. Nothing left to sell now. apad | apad
07/10/2014 08:55 | Even Allsop only owns 33%, where are you getting 43%? | emmo1210
07/10/2014 08:47 | "Chairman and major shareholder retiring is a not a plus" - Nick Paul is non executive chairman on £30k / yr retiring is not a major holder, are you confusing him with Roger Allsop? Nick Paul retiring is not, in my view, an issue. | emmo1210
07/10/2014 08:39 | Yes a mixture of positive and negative so beginning to get some traction albeit slowly | emmo1210
07/10/2014 08:14 | Yes another profits warning, but hopefully the last... albeit I'm not hiding my breath | brummy_git
07/10/2014 07:50 | IMS out but no real guidance on figures - gan:> Looks as though your gut feelings from the AGM are right - Could be a long wait untilwe get a break through either way. Conclusion still in intensive care ward but fighting hard. | pugugly
06/10/2014 23:41 | Very little info at the AGM. Selling aerospace business to Avingtrans makes sense. Chairman and major shareholder retiring is a not a plus with him controlling about 43% of the shares , even if he is 68 or so . Would have liked to see mention of progress in USA and China at AGM , perhaps not a good sign that there wasn't. Not long to wait as IMS due tomorrow. GAN - former long term holder | ganthorpe
30/9/2014 16:31 | Very small sales so could be just be a couple of people cashing in, maybe selling before the chairman departs. To me this is so small that its almost private equity, there is no liquidity. Although there is an IMS this month so we will see | wowy
30/9/2014 16:28 | "the company's track record hasn't exactly been awe-inspiring" - not for the short sighted but I think that increasing the company size 4 fold in 10 years without dilution says otherwise | emmo1210
30/9/2014 16:23 | The size and volume of trades suggest PI's, who wont be privy to such information. Understandably people will be reluctant to buy until they can see profits. Looking at previous years I don't agree that the company are releasing any less news, just the same, normal, low amount. Having sold off aerospace the management will have regained focus on remaining sectors as part of their ongoing strategy. There are obvious risks of slow business in China and UK but think the upcoming update will show a slow but improving picture. Happy to hold here, but don't think I would add....yet, maybe another few pence I might. | emmo1210
30/9/2014 16:21 | looks like a seller letting stock go. I think there is a trading update due shortly. Background suggests difficult trading has continued eg Caterpillar sales are down and that is a big customer. On the other hand there is quite alot that may have improved from self help eg sorting out the US business which as you would expect lost customers in the period prior to being bought by TCN. | meijiman
30/9/2014 16:20 | Yes - hate to agree, but I suspect Mike Welburn and his team may be about to slip up on another banana skin again. I hope I'm wrong, but the company's track record hasn't exactly been awe-inspiring. | brummy_git
30/9/2014 15:53 | Low for the year - Bad news leaking ? or just stale holders bailing out? The lack of compny news suggests the former - no news is usually bad news (imo) Management still spread too thin and the stength of sterling cannot be helping. All imo - cautions etc. Thoughts ? | pugugly
15/9/2014 09:17 | The company trading updates | emmo1210
15/9/2014 08:44 | Do you have the reference for that emmo, I can't find it. My figures are from Morningstar. apad | apad
14/9/2014 21:26 | The company already stated they were cash flow positive BEFORE selling the loss making business for a good price - just another way to look at it with some facts. | emmo1210
14/9/2014 13:06 | AGM on Tuesday - anyone going? If there is no (+ve) statement I'm inclined to cut my losses (a -ve statement might well do it for me) Cash Flow and Capex in significant deficit for two years and 2 companies sold to pay the bills for the US and China enterprises. Operating margin negative. A placing or (more likely) a rights issue beckons in my view. apad | apad
01/9/2014 09:05 | I suspect the large shareholder may need to either initiate a bit more urgency/direction in the company, or trigger a total sale of the group to crystalise value. | brummy_git |
