19/2/2013 16:54 | The last sentence of that third para is particularly toe-curling. I thought I was back at work ! | housemartin2
19/2/2013 16:12 | topvest - "I suspect the emphasis is on a more "targeted" campaign, although I agree that it's a bit obvious" These management statements are always full of worthy but meaningless words when what they really wanted to say was "the previous CEO was rubbish and we hope the new guy will do better!!!!" Did you notice the blip up a few days before the IMS came out and the drop today. The old 'nod and a wink' system still going strong lol. | losos
18/2/2013 21:06 | Yes, good IMS. I suspect the emphasis is on a more "targeted" campaign, although I agree that it's a bit obvious. | topvest
18/2/2013 17:53 | IMS today, posted just before the market closed. It looks encouraging, except: "The new strategy has a focus for developing the Group using a targeted sales plan (supported by market-led research and development) combined with a tight control of overheads to deliver efficiencies throughout the Group." What on earth was the old strategy? I hope they didn't pay any consultants to come up with this cliché! mct | mctmct
22/12/2012 13:40 | Looks well placed to move forward if you ask me. It looks like the previous MD hadn't really been taking the UK business forward which is why he has gone. With the successful US MD on board as CEO then things could get going nicely. This is a business with a durable competitive advantage in my view, so should do very well in global markets over the medium term. I don't think there is a Corporate Governance issue - these 2 years contracts are old. One has gone and the other is retiring and serving her notice period. | topvest
14/12/2012 12:28 | Strange share price movement today - 11:00 marked down nearly 10% then at 12:30 back up to where it opened this morning, if ADVFN 'trades' screen is accurate only three trades so far today and two of those appear to cancel each other out. As a complete outsider I haven't a clue what that's all about, does anyone on here have any thoughts ? | losos
12/12/2012 20:43 | No I don't know | call-logger
10/12/2012 14:35 | I am not a shareholder here but were any of you aware that Anita Haines the HR director and board member is also on a two year notice period? Spot the announcement on 1st Feb this year. The corporate governance here may need tightening up? How many others are on two years notice? | davidosh
10/12/2012 07:47 | Good results again, given weakness at the start of the year. Must be the definition of a quality business, that despite a profit warning early in the year they can get back on track within the year! It looks like they had to pay the former MD £598k given his 2 year notice period. Quite eye watering, but at least he has now gone. | topvest
28/9/2012 18:44 | excellent news | topvest
28/9/2012 16:24 | Trading statement....seems to be bullish........what does the ex-MD get in compensation?! PLC%20Alert | loofyloofy
02/8/2012 12:45 | Does not look like its anything that arises from problems with the business though as otherwise we would have had an announcement I would have thought ?? After an average H1 they were pretty upbeat about H2 in the 6m statement. The absence of any contrary statement makes me feel fairly ok about whatever is going on re the value of my investment. Tend to agree with topvest but not sure about increasing the possibility of a bid. | housemartin2
01/8/2012 20:49 | Looks like a bit of a board room bust up here doesn't it - Simon Knott (through Discretionary Fund Managers and Rights and Issues) controls 25% and the family have just under 30%. The former will no doubt win, as are more likely to have the backing of other holders, but it could be interesting! | topvest
01/8/2012 20:40 | Sounds like the MD doesn't want to go...so is being pushed! It will cost £0.5m or so in my view given the 2 year contract. | topvest
01/8/2012 20:34 | Yes, very interesting indeed. Maybe it's age related - how old is Mr Bovil? He has been at the company since 1976 and been a director for 30 years. Given Rights and Issues took up the shares, I am not unhappy to hold. It is very significant though as related parties seem to own 25% or so. It means they are potentially now a bid target in my view. Looks like it may have been coming for a while..Daemmon was appointed CEO of Treatt USA in July 2010 and as a Director of Treatt plc in May 2012. | topvest
31/7/2012 20:52 | Whoops ! Not so Speedy but Sleepy. Aplogies | housemartin2
31/7/2012 20:46 | Absolutely Speedy so it is v significant I think; certainly more significant than the short RNS implies I feel. There must be major shareholders ( excl family) that are asking same questions surely. Any answers they have should be in the public domain I wonder if that large block of shares coming to market that recently cleared coupled with the generally falling share price recently are all related ?? | housemartin2
31/7/2012 18:49 | Not just MD but one of the biggest shareholders. With his family I think they have over 25% of shares. He has been there a long time | sleepy
31/7/2012 18:21 | So the MD goes with immediate effect. Anyone got any ideas about this ? Announcement says that trading in line with their expectations implying its not a trading problem. Compensation would be at least £500k I guess (2yrs) so around 5% of pbt. | housemartin2
27/7/2012 07:46 | Oh yes, well spotted. That's a positive sign. This is a great little company and it's good to have a long term investor buy up that sort of volume. I have shares in Rights and Issues Investment Trust - it's a good trust. | topvest
26/7/2012 21:27 | coolen Thank you! Glad to stick with it! z | zeppo
26/7/2012 20:39 | Buyer was Simon Knott, a respected smaller company fund manager. | coolen
26/7/2012 10:19 | I have been advised to stick with it. MMs looking to place the large volume of shares, which sold yesterday, may have depressed the price lately. The shares were taken up, I believe, so are not in an 'overhang ' situation. Possibly it was an institutional seller. If it turns out to be a director then head for the lifeboats! z | zeppo
25/7/2012 12:53 | Anyone got any info. on why the share price has fallen significantly in the last few weeks ? Cannot find any RNS or anything generally in its markets or commodity sources that I can see. However does it source from Middle East and cannot easily replace ?? | housemartin2
21/5/2012 15:18 | Were you reading the same announcement? Weak H1 was already flagged. H2 looks like it will be much stronger and they have said they will do better than revised expectations. This is a great business. There will be some volatility along the way, but the general trend on results is UP! | topvest |
