24/4/2014 09:28 | OTT comment re last years weather, did they miss 2 months of non stop rain this year? | the white house
24/4/2014 07:50 | Quite some growth figures, even allowing for weak comparables. | jeffian
24/4/2014 07:21 | Good times. | lenzcrafter
24/4/2014 06:39 | TP Interims encouraging Travis Perkins plc First quarter 2014 interim management statement - year started in line with expectations Highlights -- Total sales growth of 15.6%, 14.2% on a comparable trading days basis -- Like-for-like sales growth of 12.7%, 2 year like-for-like sales growth of 9.3% -- Strong sales growth helped by weak 2013 comparatives -- Overall trading consistent with expectations at the start of the year | tiger20
18/2/2014 17:17 | With final results due next week we will soon be informed as to recent trading. However it is the medium to long term that interests me. There is a lot of pressure to build new houses . new garden cities are being contemplated. Consider also the amount of flood and storm damage that will have to be repaired sooner rather than later. ( weather permitting: unfortunately increasingly imponderable ). The next few years could be extremely busy for builders and builders` merchants. Don`t be surprised if business over recent weeks has been adversely affected by the weather, but look to the the long term potential. | roddiemac2
18/2/2014 10:52 | Is this a little break out? | lenzcrafter
31/12/2013 08:41 | TPK Breakout happening now should have a steady rise over next twelve months shares moved up to 1880p up 2.2% | tiger20
21/10/2013 17:28 | UBS raises target from 1825p to 1960p keeping a buy recommendation. | tiger20
21/10/2013 07:47 | New Nuclear Construction EDF Somerset One winner on this news not immediately apparent but will benefir is Travis Perkins group supplying building products to contractors, over 600 branches including Wickes. A steady rise over next few months on TPK S.P and if construction continues to increase (as government plans) would expect this to be in new year tips. imo | tiger20
17/10/2013 09:57 | The positive sales momentum experienced in the second quarter of 2013 continued into the third quarter. Total sales growth of 8.6%, 7.1% on a comparable trading days basis, and like-for-like sales growth of 6.3% Retail markets, however, remain challenging. The Consumer division recorded flat like-for-like sales growth in the quarter, a significant reduction from the 8.6% growth recorded in the two months to 30 June 2013. Both Wickes and Tile Giant received little benefit from the warmer summer weather given their limited range in outdoor categories.. Geoff Cooper, Chief Executive, commented: "Whilst still early in the recovery of our markets, the stronger trading conditions experienced by our merchanting businesses in particular is a reassuring indicator of improved sentiment in construction. The recovery in activity, signalled by us in early 2013, looks set to continue into 2014 as owners' and occupiers' construction and maintenance activity increases from the very low levels encountered over the last five years. The Group is well positioned, as the leading supplier of building | tiger20
17/10/2013 09:43 | Thoughts on the debt increase though? Not sure about that. | lateralam
17/10/2013 07:46 | Sales momentum is building nicely but I think their EPS guidance of "around 100p" may be a tad below analysts' forecasts (Yahoo showing average 103 with one brave soul sticking his neck out at 130. That's his job on the line!). Be interesting to see whether the scribblers produce any down/upgrades on the back of this. | jeffian
13/10/2013 09:59 | Broker upgrade last friday caused the increase in share price suspect more to follow. Good news from China regarding £800m construction ivestment in an Industrial Park around Manchester wonder where they will get their building materials a builders Merchant of course. Construction companies have very few direct accounts with Mfrs | tiger20
11/10/2013 12:13 | Wow last few days good increase in SP- I said recently £30 in 2 years time now approaching £16.70p one to took away. A little bit of inflation will do them good with 500/600 branches stock values rise overnight with no increase in fixed costs. | tiger20
09/10/2013 07:45 | TPK xd today 10p but larger drop in price because of retail figures yesterday which were well down and affected DXNS & M%S etc | tiger20
25/7/2013 11:41 | Market seems to be fairly happy with those results today. Not much movement either way | ryandj2222
21/7/2013 12:52 | Topps Tiles, TPT, have been upgraded by Goldmansacks to a Strong Buy rating. Resistance levels as follows: 76.25, 81.5, 87.00, 105.00, 126.5, 143.00, 162.00, 231.00...then its all clear to three pounds. The company is expanding its number of DIY stores from 301 to 351 this year, 15% increase of market share. It would make a good take-over target for TPK at a current price of 88p a share to increase market share. | leebong
18/6/2013 15:53 | TPK downgraded to neutral by Goldman Sachs today: www.brokerforecasts. | major clanger |
