It's difficult to hit a market when the goalposts keep moving, but I like to think torque monitoring for KERS and other shaft monitoring has been enough of a success to now be pretty much a bolt on.
Eyes on the US methinks, if they abandon petrochemical powered cars things will really gather pace; but then I guess the flexplate project will be abandoned or modified to HGVs.

Possibly but I dont think the government have gone into this with everything fully costed and all the difficulties solved. Its very easy for them to make such a statement but I doubt they have a detailed strategy in place. I read this morning they have requested a report on the impact of Brexit on EU migrants. It will not be ready until 6 months before we leave. That should have been started a year ago. It doesnt inspire confidence.

I'm fairly sure the timetable for transition to electric vehicles will be largely met. Cheaper renewables are slowly but surely providing a greater wad of the national grid's power, making this a viable model. I think the question we need to ask ourselves is how this development affects our business and how we should he preparing.

I shouldnt worry about the electric thing. Its just political talk. I suspect it will take longer than thought for all diesel and petrol to be eliminated.

I'm wondering if the ban of petrol/diesel cars will kill or enhance automotive torque applications. Presumably the flexplate project will be dead but ToD may not be. Then again the whole system can be monitored by amps, volts and rotation so presumably there won't be any need for torque monitoring.
The RoftW may not go electric in the same timescale but I don't see established automotive projects gaining strength.
But will torque monitoring become even more important, as with wind power?

..aah, regenerative braking. As in KERS. This sounds like a Mclaren thing...

TQS had to be a slow burn as we were restricted to the vehicle market until I think around 2012 or possibly later. And in that arena given the crash and the huge number of recalls in the auto industry it was going to be a long process that may never bear fruit. However I could be wrong as the arrival of the electric car will provide plenty of change. As will the fully automated car.

As for the machine industry side if you look where we are and the restriction we had in place for most of the last 17 years it is not too bad.

iTrackII looks to be a winner.

"old money" amt ! I too am still holding loads of TRT and IGE going back 10 years plus, and well down on both despite averaging down. Maybe we need a William Mawer at TRT? (He's IGE's newish Chairman who seems to have turned the company round).

Sorry to hear you are still up to your ears in TRT. Like many of us, I started with a small holding and got sucked into more with rights issues and averaging down. Think my break even is now about 35p - be very surprised if we ever get near that,but of course dare not sell at these levels - just in case.. !

Yes Monty. I remember well sticking in a sizeable sum in a placing that must have been at least 12 years ago, probably more! Took a while to get the right team at IGE but all very promising now...
