05/8/2020 12:46 | Yes,that's a better comparison ; kvass as a pick-me-up, but maybe not the krokodil for TSG ! We had the bad news a little while ago. I'll stick to Pryanyi Chai for the time being. | corrientes
05/8/2020 12:12 | Or kvass and krokodil | zangdook
05/8/2020 12:04 | Hope you're right, but maybe cigarillos would be more apt here. | corrientes
04/8/2020 20:41 | Lets get our cigars out gold is over 2K | pureclass85
04/8/2020 17:15 | Of course, as gold heads for $2,000 per oz, it is totally rational for TSG to go down on the day. That's real, not so hidden, manipulation of a non independent company for sure. As for TSG doing an HGM, the share structure indicates that the usual laws of supply and demand don't operate here, so its unlikely that there would be a genuine takeover. More importantly, given that HGM is maybe 8x bigger than TSG, according to the ADVFN numbers if correct, I think its maybe too small to command the interests of an outside party ; then again being totally controlled. Unless of course, in the very unlikely event there's a stich up somewhere. LOL. The good news would be that if selling does stop as Mattjos suggests might happen, and the market realises there are no more available shares, then in a restricted market, rises would be very accentuated in a thin market, if the usual precepts of supply and demand reassert themselves. Let's ignore the return journey at the moment as gold is on a roll. | corrientes
04/8/2020 11:46 | That is an interesting point Matt. I will be keeping an eye on trades over the coming weeks. The current price does seem to have broken out from the recent trend. A solid hold for me this one. | jeanesy
04/8/2020 11:08 | Given what has gone on at HGM & what is going on at POG, I suspect the company and it's largest shareholder (UFG) will have been in contact with one another. They may both have conclude that it is NOT in either of their best interests for UFG to reduce their holding much lower else risk some other predatory Russian entity making a play for this company. That might/should reduce the selling pressure here by UFG + HGM investors will have cash on hand now / shortly & many of them will want to remain invested in the Gold mining space. TSG is profitable and pays a dividend so, will feature on the radar as potential new home for that cash | mattjos

31/7/2020 16:42 | Good to see us end the week above 100. Have a great weekend all :) | jeanesy
31/7/2020 12:40 | With HGM receiving a bid easy to argue that these deserve a bit more of a premium :) | ukgeorge
31/7/2020 12:03 | Yes, trust is an increasing worry, and there is precedence if one cares to look, though not necessarily just in connection with precious metals. I can remember the Cypriot bail in where bank depositers were, I think, fleeced by the EU authorities not so long ago. Your money in a bank is the bank's money not your own. You're just a creditor ! I just get the impression that governments all over the world are rightly scared about the effect of the pandemic on a planet which has become, IMO, far too top heavy in many areas. They'll do anything to survive and maintain the status quo, but that's politics so I'd better shut up. | corrientes
31/7/2020 11:48 | progressing nicely | qs99
31/7/2020 10:25 | Corrientes, i agree with you regarding Russia. However, which countries do you trust ? My list of trusted countries is very short, and even then given a bad recession and pog at $5000 which governments would you trust then ? I don't think i would trust any of them. How would they resist the temptation to put a high tax on what they might see as surplus profits ? I'm here for the time being but my thinking is very much a excessively high pog may not be the best thing for gold miners. We shall see. | swallowsflysouth
31/7/2020 10:23 | Absolutely, but then there's always SGC in Jockland to fall back on, and it's not done too badly recently. | corrientes
31/7/2020 10:08 | I wouldn't single out Russia as being dodgy, unfortunately a lot of gold mines are in dodgy parts of the world! | 32campomar
31/7/2020 09:39 | The share has been behaving as if it wants to attract a buyer, and in the back of my mind, I don't really trust anything that is Russia related, though I don't mind making some dosh out of it. If the new vein turns out to be as good as the current mine, then I hope we get the benefit. A downside to a takeover is that the company may be too small to warrant a bid, though for us that has to be a good thing. | corrientes
31/7/2020 09:28 | This is still 25% below last year's high despite gold being much lower at that time. If you were on the acquisition trail, TSG must be tempting. | 32campomar
31/7/2020 09:08 | Yes it's good to have takeover activity in the sector, but this is Cheap and the last thing we want is to be taken out with a derisory offer. | 32campomar
31/7/2020 08:52 | Have this an KAT goldies, both look solid on paper but share price not so. | inthemix
31/7/2020 08:51 | Constantly nt to buy, might see a huge rise today, be patient. | inthemix
31/7/2020 08:15 | After today's news regarding HGM, I think these will probably be taken out soon. 20% premium over the month is a terrible offer. HGM shares were +310p only yesterday. TSG needs to rise quick or we will get taken out cheap also. Now where is the yeast. GLH | kickingking
30/7/2020 21:17 | I did but will do so again as not heard anything.. A trade of 130k gone through. Think it was a buy . What do others think. Cheap below 100p. still on an upward trend though. | jeanesy
30/7/2020 16:50 | SHG is down by a Similar amount, markets have had a bad day and profit taking is to be expected. | 32campomar
30/7/2020 14:44 | Typical. A small drop in gold and a bigger drop here, when it is already Championship material, certainly not Premier. If the performance and exploration was not going well, I could understand it, but that's case here. Sent a very courteous email to the company about share performance, but as expected, no response was forthcoming. Jeansey didn't you do that as well ? Its time for that seller to make an appearance again ! | corrientes |
