Im no liar and no idiot. my insider is very close to the insurance market and whilst there are some numbers the profit levels are extremely small if not miniscule, you would have to do serious quantities to even survive at Trak's current churn levels. Hope those quantities come but I'm still told not happening currently, but any Watkins would say different. I'm told that internally no-one has been told why Nikki and her team have left all been brushed under the carpet and staff been told not to speak to her or team, my contact suspects foul play with her and Morris, only Morris been a shareholder would have to remain silent. More to this than meets the eye here. on the advice I've been given from my good friend I have no reason to doubt him, I'm with Blondie!

Blondie I'll do you a deal. If they are bust by the end of the summer then I'll disappear but only if you agree that if they are still here at the end of the summer then you disappear.

The insurance contracts dont mean nothing, they mean a lot. Volume never came from them initially that is true but it is now. Even Jacko's top secret insider told us that insurance is booming. So is Jacko a liar and an idiot too.

Dave - the large scale or significant contracts or whatever JW called them are all insurance companies and we now know who they are. I thought Nikki was selling Fleet deals so totally different markets. These insurance deals were all secured pre Nikki and we've been waiting for over 2 years for these to start shipping - maybe more like 3. Now they have started shipping it is these large scale or significant contracts that have changed the company from loss making to profit making. Sure Fleet is adding to the figures but it is these large scale or significant contracts that will transform trakm8. It is these large scale or significant contracts that persuaded Microlise to give trakm8 £3m. It is these large scale or significant contracts that made JW start looking for bigger premises to manufacture - prematurely maybe. It is these large scale or significant contracts which I believe led them to look for extra funding recently to support this period of growth. It is these large scale or significant contracts I have been banging on about constantly.

I suspected Mansfield was the turnaround man under the guise of "new group sales and marketing director". What a bunch of shysters.

Trakm8 fan is definitely one of the Watkins!

I’ve heard it straight from my source. 2 optimisations deals are Morrison’s and Sainsbury’s optimisation not telematics.both high numbers but low revenue in total about a million quid over 5 years and been on the boil for some time. Mansfield is not a sales or marketing Director look at his linked in, hes a ceo who runs loss making businesses and turns them around, maybe appointed as board lost confidence in old man Watkins who knows!!!

Nickie’s team were hitting target I’m told If you read her linked on it says 35% growth. Growth is growth but if you can’t stop the leaky bucket at the bottom end! Sean’s a bit behind bit but both directors gone. Nickie’s linked in today implies she has another position and a couple of her team have also left, interesting to see where they are all going, that a different story! Trakm8fan is just protecting his company!

Play what game exactly? I quite clearly stated in my two previous posts I was speculating. Sharing ideas....geddit?

I've no idea of Nickie's value to the company. I'm merely expanding on the intel from 6jacko. You seem to be suggesting that maybe Nickie's performance wasn't as good as has been suggested and she left blaming others rather than herself for self preservation reasons. OK you might be right but my gut feeling is that what 6jacko is saying carries validity. He comes across as genuine.

A question for you trakm8Fan. If you think Nickie wasn't producing the numbers then why are you currently very optimistic about the company? You're suggesting that Nickie's numbers weren't up to scratch then in the next breath telling us that you think these large scale contracts - or whatever JW called them - are starting to ship in anger. What you're saying appears to me to be contradictory. If you believe contracts are now being shipped in anger then who exactly won them?

He lobs in a few ideas does Dave. Judging by his posts these last few months I don't suppose it's inconceivable that he has some connection with the company. Very naughty if so. 2 can play that game Dave. Its an open forum to share ideas. Nikki leaving spells disaster for some on here or it could be explained easily. We will never know. My view is you cant say that one person makes or breaks a company. Not if the company is of a reasonable size. If someone is brought in to bolster sales and then they leave the person will obviously blame the company otherwise its career suicide. The company may have a different view. They may see numbers short of target or agreed levels at start of relationship. In Sales you live or die on your numbers. If her numbers were amazing would she have left?

Wild speculation here. I haven't a clue and maybe this is way, way wide of the mark. Maybe Nickie was brought in for the sole purpose of poaching Masternaut customers. She's achieved that and now served her purpose and off she goes.

One can only speculate. Maybe the new group sales and marketing director Peter Mansfield is bringing his own team in? I mean trakm8Fan has tossed in the idea that Nickie maybe wasn't producing the numbers. He lobs in a few ideas does trakm8Fan. Judging by his posts these last few months I don't suppose it's inconceivable that he has some connection with the company. Very naughty if so.

Which one of the Watkins is Trakm8 fan??
More sales people gone today I’m told , Why the mass clear out. I’m purely saying the large contracts brought to the table were due to Nikki and all Masternaut accounts, you can see that on her linked in comments. My source tells her team was producing More than anyone and there’s more to this than meets the eye. Just wonder what it is.

Good info there Jacko thanks.

I think if big companies have signed deals for large fleets its more likely they will still happen even without Nikki. Surely several people would need to sign off these deals so I cant imagine anyone sayin hang on someone has left Trakm8 so everything we decided a month or so ago is all wrong. It cant all hinge on one member of staff.

Perhaps Nikki was getting a hard time because she wasn't producing the numbers. In which case her leaving isn't a reflection on the company if you ask me. She would surely blame the company for this poor performance now wouldn't she. Maybe she was way off her target.

I still think these large scale contracts - or whatever JW called them - are starting to ship in anger now or have been for the last few months. This is what has righted the ship and the volumes should start steadily rising. Even if the volumes only stay the same we wont see all the revenue until 12 months from ship so plenty more to come. Plus more insurance companies coming online too.

I'm assuming installation types can start going out and about now to fit into vehicles for these fleet deals so thats less of a barrier. I did see an AA posting somewhere saying that traffic levels are starting to rise again now so clearly the country is starting to get moving or driving again.

The only bad news here is Nikki leaving and Covid. I dont think these can cause Trakm8 to fail. Its a very different story to what it was 12 months ago when people were saying bust.

Lots fleet customer wins by Nickie and her team on good length contracts. Source tells me due to land 2 x 5000+ contracts from Nikkis Masternaut days, Wonder if they will happen now she’s gone!! Contact says insurance is booming with activity since Corona but rudderless without Sean Morris. All sales reporting into JW himself. Why get rid of 2 directors unless money the issue! Source tells me Mark Watkins made Nikkis life a misery so maybe more to it than we know

I looked at the Trak8 website and the line up of customers looks good for future growth. Bought to day on AA's report

Yes no guarantees for either the AA or Trakm8, but the AA are clearly on the right path and should help drag Trakm8 forward with them. If covid-19 hadn't appeared, my guess is that both company's share prices would be a lot higher by now.

Cheers for posting this.

Took up a decent position in AA., recently off the back of the bonkers share price at the time. Today's update was a nice confirmation of what most know: it is an excellent company that will easily weather the current storm. It also has decent growth prospects. People have different views on its debt. My own is that it's well under control and management have a solid plan to service it and eventually see much of it off. This brings us nicely back to Trak and the aspects of the plan that you highlight above. If (and we know there's a question mark over this) Trak and survive COVID19, then I think the future partnership looks very bright. If not, then one must assume the AA will buy up Trak's tech from the administrators (or buy Trak in a fire sale - if Microlise acquiesce) and continue with what looks like a solid plan. My hope and faith of course lies in the former.

Excellent report by the AA this morning, and more importantly for Trakm8 there are a very significant number of references to Smart Breakdown and Telematics. They are clearly very central to the AA's growth going forward. I've picked out some statements from their report. The cross-selling opportunities are enormous.

"We are making significant progress with the development and rollout of several new products and services and in May 2019 were pleased to have launched our first Product Innovation Day showcasing the range of ground-breaking tech-led innovations that we are currently developing. These include Smart Breakdown, SMR, young driver telematic-enabled insurance, as well as improvements in our digital reporting and diagnostic capabilities that will differentiate the AA, help our customers in their daily driving lives, improve our operational efficiency and generate additional revenue streams from both within and outside our current core membership base."

"What we have achieved
In October 2019, we launched Smart Breakdown, a new premium offering that will transform our breakdown service by using connected technology to enable early identification of faults, prevent breakdowns and get our members back on the road faster. Over 4,500 new and existing members currently have Smart Breakdown and feedback to date has been very positive. The data from our connected technology is also being used to broaden our insurance footprint through our young driver insurance proposition which we launched late in FY20."

"What to look forward to
Our forward connected car strategy will be multi-faceted and will involve direct outreach to B2C customers through our Smart Breakdown proposition, as well as through strategic partnerships with OEMs which either leverage our technology or utilise OEMs' existing capabilities. Where our customers give us their permission we will be able to use the data from our connected car technology to continue to build our telematic insurance capabilities."

"What we have achieved
We launched our new Drive Smart marketing campaign in July 2019 targeting Freedom Seekers, a younger cohort of UK motorists (typically in their mid-40s) with our new positioning - making Britain's driving life simpler and smarter for UK motorists. The Stellar Rescue campaign depicts the iconic British 'Red Dwarf' crew stranded in space before being rescued by an AA patrol following a breakdown reported through the AA app. In early FY21, to support our Smart Breakdown launch, we aired the second part of the Stellar Rescue campaign in which the crew use our Smart Breakdown technology in space. The campaigns which have been broadcast on TV, cinema, out-of-home and radio, as well as through digital channels, have been well received."

"What we have achieved
During the year, our digital channels were used in 48% of the personal breakdowns that we serviced, up from 45% last year. We are currently in the process of expanding our digital offerings to our B2B base, with Lloyds banking group customers now able to report their breakdown online.
In relation to our award-winning app, approximately 700,000 unique users accessed the app on a monthly basis, of which around 50% were returning users and 50% were new. Approximately 60% of members have registered for the app to date, up from 48% last year. The key enhancement this year was the successful integration of Smart Breakdown functionality which is currently available to all Smart Breakdown users."

"What to look forward to
The investments we have made and will continue to make in marketing and pricing capabilities, as well as our online offerings including our app will give us important capabilities to improve retention performance, grow our membership base as well as drive cost reduction and enable new and bundled propositions, such as Smart Breakdown."

"What we have achieved
We soft launched our young driver insurance scheme this year utilising our connected Smart Breakdown technology. The integration of our digital and connected car strategy across our Roadside and Insurance businesses will enable a leading member offering through its simplicity and as a straightforward solution for motoring needs."

"In addition to the non-member growth channel, we were pleased to have soft launched our young driver proposition at the end of the year which, combined with the addition of Aviva to our motor panel base, will help to significantly broaden our demographic footprint and support volume growth of the motor book."

"What to look forward to
We will continue to develop our young driver proposition, which we believe can be a significant value driver for our Insurance business and help to promote cross-sell opportunities."

"To ensure that we have in place the optimal balance between the right level of front-line resourcing and flexibility in our cost base to redeploy resources during quieter periods, we are introducing more flexible working arrangements for our patrols. New initiatives include looking to utilise our Patrols' experience to broaden our technical services business by working on new revenue channels, such as vehicle recalls for OEMs and trials with a partner in the SMR market. Longer term, we also expect the growth of our digital reporting channels and Smart Breakdown to be a significant driver of operational cost efficiencies across our business."

I might have missed some references to Smart Breakdown/ Telematics, but it's a big chunk of their report commenting on how central Smart Breakdown/ Telematics is to their future growth. Massive cross-selling opportunities exist. Very encouraging for Trakm8 as and when the "lockdown" restrictions are eased which I believe will begin this Monday?
