From the AA's trading update this morning:



"The AA continues to build on its leadership position in digital mobile platforms, including the AA breakdown app. More than 1 million members are now registered for the app and it continues to be used in about one-third of breakdowns that we service for our members. We are also making good progress with the development of our connected car strategy. During the second half of this year, we will add new functionality including integrating elements of our Car Genie app into the AA breakdown app thereby allowing our members to benefit fully from an integrated journey from the point of breakdown that we believe will drive higher levels of member engagement."

I haven't bought any for a a little while.

But I haven't found adding share incrementally, difficult here. Big purchases might take a while to go through but I've always been successful with those also, in the end. Lots of sells seem to be going through on a daily basis, so someone is picking them up.

You can also put a limit order on for a month (or at least you can with HSBC direct), which will continue to fill you order each day until complete.

They may be cheap but they are not available, have you tried trading ? Buy or sell is near on impossible unless you talk really small amounts.

Hot air I suspect.

This chap attempts to drop the odd unsubstantiated 'bomb' here and elsewhere, every now-and-again. I wouldn't take much notice - unless of course, he provides substantive evidence to back up said claims.

Whilst they've clearly made mistakes along the way, this is a fairly conservative and cautious BOD, I doubt very much that the heralded expansion would be without foresight and merit. Expect orders to increase over the next year or two. The thing with the AIM market is people want gains, results and news yesterday. I believe with this share you need to look at the bigger picture. There's a growth story here, it's just taking longer than expected to play out. The upside is that cheap shares are still available.

I sincerely hope there are orders/deals to support the new premises but perhaps this aligns to JW's like for building production as well - who knows what the dongles would cost if CEMd to the far east? Where are the RoadHawk cameras made, suspect it's not in a Coleshill postcode area...


I've seen nothing to suggest that the Co is going after anything other than more black box/dongles as a way to do more but unfortunately, I think this just means they stand still in terms of revenue and margin.


I wonder where vehicle manufacturers see the devices installed becoming their responsibility as more inter-vehicle communications become reality with autonomous vehicle development. I hope Trak are following this and sinking some serious R&D and tech into this but see practically no mention of it in their announcements.

Agreed, that is the logical conclusion - you don't tie yourself to a lease and invest that kind of money without something supporting the decision aka orders. It would just be nice to get some news about these orders. The alternative scenario is this increase in capacity is a huge gamble (which I do not think they would choose to do) - so orders it is - but what.

A positive RNS but what is the basis for having the capacity to produce circa 1 million devices? It would be nice if there was some indication of why they feel confident they will require such capacity. It is OK saying car genie etc but are they speculating or do they have something more concrete.

That aside, I am genuinely excited about their prospects and hope they exceed my expectations.....

It’s a positive news story, for sure, but not much more.

September’s trading update will be the important narrative that either ticks us up or down some more.

I thought these might have ticked up a bit on that news. The volumes here are ridiculously low, even for a small cap.
