I can't see that Kestrel would ever have any influence here.Other major shareholders hold over 60% and, importantly, the Directors hold over 34%

imo your opinions on how Kestrel acquires its stakes are not true

eg. at KBC they bought repeatedly in the mkt....over time..& the mkt wasnt interested & price didnt move ( until a few yrs later when someone bt the co.; at a higher price)

Depends to what extent they've hedged it.

GBP/USD at its highest since Brexit.

TRAK lost 600k from the -15% fall in FY17 and now it's back to -6%. That should benefit them at least 300k compared to last year in raw material costs. Every little helps.

These shares are horribly overvalued IMO. Should be nearer to 50p.

There seems to be a pattern in Kestrel Partners shareholdings. They seem to build up smallish stakes in somewhat robust growing aim companies and then increase their stakes via placings.

What I wonder is, are they encouraging boards to carry out low priced placings to acquire larger stakes on the cheap and which the directors by participating in placings also get shares on the cheap? If it weren't for these placings Kestrel would have to build stakes in the market, like everyone else, and thus share prices of such companies would rise. Instead with placings they benefit by discounted rather than premium prices.

The results were good but I didn't see the board doing much of a PR exercise about them.

I hope the selling over the last few days isn't insider info leaking aimed at depressing the share price.

I just wonder why they have only now after 9 months decided to tell us they had a 'notifiable' stake in Trakm8,

the TW video on youtube is worth watching !

(even as MD of Riv. St he was telling ppl to buy the Riv St shares !!) ( no respect for mkt rules imo) (& in the 2015 videos he looks terrible, like he hasnt slept for weeks, bags under the eyes etc)

he only gets a % right

he was boss of Rivington St and its funds

& it's funds did well & then fell & Riv St went bust !

TW's asset value collapsed at same time.

--

I recall that he put a sell note on Wandisco
it has since gone x3 !!
---

He does decent/good job highlighting some fraudulent dirs ( so many on AIM), & useless regulators & Chinese frauds.....

British-built connected car device wins international Product of the Year award

The AA’s Car Genie telematics device winsConnected Car OBDII Product of the Year 2018

A plug-in car telematics device which costs less than £30 has won an international award for ‘Product of the Year’.

The AA’s Car Genie, which is made in the UK, stood out amongst over 3,000 nominations from across the world in the 2018 international IoT Breakthrough Award.
The device connects with a car’s diagnostic system* and reports data on a smartphone app, including battery health, vehicle location and driver eco score. It goes as far as detecting problems and alerting the driver (and the AA) before they lead to a breakdown.

Alan Ferguson, Head of Connected Car at the AA, said: “Connected devices are ‘disruptive’, innovative products designed to make consumers’ lives easier through the use of data, whether in the home or on the road.
“Car Genie does exactly that within the car, to help keep our members’ wheels turning. The device grants drivers’ top three wishes and more – to never lose their car, prevent breakdowns and get immediate help in an accident – as well as the ability to improve fuel economy and settle the score on who really is the best driver in the house!

“It’s a fantastic achievement to have won the IoT ‘Connected Car Product of the Year’ award, beating stiff competition and is a great testament to the design and development of our technology.”

Kestrel specialises in reducing Inheritance Tax by investing clients money in AIM companies. "Under current tax rules, an exemption from IHT is available to private individuals in respect of shares that have been held for two years in companies that are eligible for Business Property Relief (BPR). Most companies on AIM, other than companies principally involved in investment activities, are eligible for BPR."

GBP/USD strengthening, should help bring raw material costs down by another 100k-200k in the second half. UK Services and Manufacturing both seem to be rising lately and a Brexit phase 1 deal should make businesses less wary in investing imo.

Let's see if this leads to a contract win soon, haven't had one since August. That insurance company contract I am expecting still hasn't materialised and there's also the potential for a huge EU leader in machinery to be booked, but all speculation from google searches until now.

March to May is high season for contracts based on last year.

They built a stake in KBC Advanced Technologies but I seem to recall they held on behalf of the directors somehow. I thought it was some kind of tax avoidance scheme.

This is positive news with more funds getting involved in TRAK.

But the weird part is that the purchase was done in March and only RNSed today. (The RNS states the date of acquisition on it as March, that's all I know)

Opportunities? I will do some research.Blondeaman -do you have any

Patience.

Some new contract wins in 2018 will change all of this.

Happy New Year
