Gwr7 I welcome opposing views - I just don't feel your posts about wider issues were well thought out as they relied on massive assumptions as far as I can tell. If you can explain how you know there were wide spread issues if be interested to listen as the company feedback suggests otherwise. You keep referring to these problems happening in the summer which suggests you feel they have been resolved anyway. If that's the case then what's the problem? People get annoyed when posters seem to have ulterior motives. Your motives are not clear I'm afraid.

GWR7 (Narinder) - No it's you that disappoint me. Trakm8 was one of numerous longs that you have followed me into, and you decided to sell at around 80p. I suspect you are now having doubts about your sale, and so you're trying to talk down the price to buy back in. I suggest that you read back your own posts on this subject, you'll find they are totally inconsistent. Firstly you weren't going to replace your device, now you claim you have(does the new one work?). Secondly, you detailed all the purported problems that you had experienced, and now you are claiming that others won't be aware of the problems. How does that work? You then try and assert that there are hardware and software problems. How on earth would you know? I could go on, but your ultimate aim is to try and disrupt a good and informative BB with (let me be kind) "your unsubstantiated claims". I'd be careful what you post in future. You're not anonymous and unless you have proof of the veracity of your claims then you may well be held to account. Michael.

You disappoint me michaelmouse. I thought you were a more measured character than to dismiss an opposing point of view as nonsense. Clearly just another punter talking up his long book. I am neither long, nor short here. As a former investor I am alerting current holders to known problems that occurred during the summer that do not appear to be widely know or understood. What I have been trying to point out by making a few posts, and I stress a few posts, is that, to my knowledge, Direct Line customers have not been alerted to these problems that may be affecting their installed trackm8 device without their knowledge. As there do not seem to be any failure flags, other than from the customer who may not bother to look at the data once they discover their driving score is good, the scale of the problem is difficult to quantify. I will leave it at that. If they must, the chickens will come home to roost.

Can't be validated Hydrus? Really? As you said, your research is based on a search for forums and comments expressing dissatisfaction and is inadequate. Bury your head in the sand if you must but if you're accusing me of making up what are known problems you're going to have to come up with something better than bulletin board bluster. The thing that concerns me most is the state of the data quality control and given the safety and financial implications that ought to be top notch.

Interesting appointment by the Floow (Trakm8's partners on the Direct Line contract). Two points of significance to me:- hTTp://www.blmforum.net/en/blm/Appointments/6781/The-Floow-appoints-dedicated-Account-Director-for-Direct-Line-contract.htm 1)"Claire will deliver a dedicated day to day point of contact for Direct Line" 2)"Earlier this year The Floow – which was recently shortlisted for the Best Telematics Based Project at the Digital Insurance and Technology Awards and won the Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Leadership - also announced that it had received a 15% equity investment from Direct Line, enabling the organisation to further expand their expert team and extend their global reach to a host of other blue chip insurance firms." Firstly, point 1) suggests that the volumes of telematics device sales remain very high and therefore a dedicated day to day point of contact with Direct Line is essential. Secondly, point 2) could lead to further global expansion to a host of other blue chip insurance firms for Trakm8 and the Floow assuming the partnership is working well. As we know there are no guarantees in investing, but Trakm8 is a very long term hold for me. Always best to concentrate on the facts and ignore any nonsense on bulletin boards. Worth remembering the recent trading update:- hTTp://michae1mouse.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/trakm8-driving-growth-into-new.html Cheers. Michael.

Agree Harrison, I think what we have here is a single experience which can't be validated from which we should not draw any wider conclusions at all. The bit that annoys me is the inference that others were having trouble, which was blatantly just made up!

I am sorry to say this, but GWR7 posts, just add to my belief that these bulletin boards are a nonsense......Posting it twice is pathetic and no one else reports the issue. I also know the company (I hold no shares and have no axe to grind) and the feedback I get is that the Direct Line deal is going well as a fully managed service....Trakm8 have really invested in making this type of business a succcess....they will have issues...who doesn't ? They may of course be misleading me, i do accept that, but they are very bullish .

It seems there were hardware and software problems during the summer and there are no alerts when devices stop transmitting. I've got my replacement but it leads me to wonder how many are driving without knowing they have an issue? I don't think anyone can answer that at this point in time.

Oh and BTW I previously spoke to a Director at the TRAK who confirmed that feedback from users was good at Direct Line. Of course the odd device might not work, but then again it depends on what the user is doing also. I assume you have sought a replacement since your first complaint months ago?

GWR7 - this isn't the first time you've posted your complaint. I have looked into whether others are having issues with the devices and can't see any forums or comments anywhere which allude to dissatisfaction. If there were wide spread problems with them I would expect more noise. What makes you say that others are having issues too?

I have been experiencing problems with the trakm8 device fitted to my car. It turns out I'm not alone in this. I doubt direct line know exactly how many customers are affected as the company is unable to keep on top of the devices issued and does not know how many are working and how many are not working.

hTTp://www.trakm8.com/news/south-gloucestershire-council-choose-trakm8-as-part-of-their-carbon-management-plan South Gloucestershire Council choose Trakm8 as part of their Carbon Management Plan October 24th, 2014 "Trakm8 have provided South Gloucestershire Council a solution to actively reduce their energy consumption through fleet utilisation. As part of their overall strategy, South Gloucestershire Council have created a Carbon Management Plan which aims to reduce their energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and all associated costs in all council facilities and operations. The council’s large fleet of service vehicles are a key part of their operations and a number of initiatives have been implemented to reduce their CO2 emissions. Using Trakm8’s SWIFT Fleet Management solution is one example of how the council have been able to improve fleet utilisation and routing. The Trakm8 SWIFT web portal is used to monitor fleet usage as well as creating advanced vehicle utilisation reports. With scheduled routes improved and mileage reduced, South Gloucestershire Council has reduced their CO2 emissions and improved efficiencies within the fleet. This contributes to the council’s pledge to improve the quality of life for their residents through their Air Quality Action Plan. Martin Harris, Transport & Procurement Manager at South Gloucestershire Council, said: “We value or staff, community and the environment and we are always looking at ways we can improve the quality of life for our residents. Trakm8’s SWIFT Fleet Management software has helped us to improve our fleet efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint, which is part of our Carbon Management Plan.” John Watkins, Executive Chairman at Trakm8 commented: “With increasing pressures on public sector organisations, I am pleased that Trakm8 can assist South Gloucestershire Council to reduce their carbon footprint and increase efficiencies.” Michael.

Just a reminder.. Trak will be presenting and having a stand on the Friday at my Mello2014 investor show in Derby from 6-8th November if any of you would like to meet them and also meet 54 other companies during the event ? There is a star studded line up on the main stage with fantastic keynote speakers including one that is actually a shareholder here. www.mello2014.com

Some excellent buying opportunities arising with the small and micro-caps. This one in particular. I love indiscriminate sell-offs. Recently bought more shares in an outfit called 7Digital whilst it was friendless. Everybody's best mate today. 77% rise in the SP, and far more to come I suspect. Trakm8 is in the right place at the right time on a modest forward PE, but with double digit growth. The shares are illiquid, but you should always use this to your advantage and buy when the sellers are spooked by general market sentiment. The short, medium and long term prospects for Trakm8 haven't changed in the last few days. Terrific little growth company with very solid fundamentals and strong management. Some might wish to take advantage of any weakness in the SP? No advice intended. From my blog in September:- hTTp://michae1mouse.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/trakm8-driving-growth-into-new.html Michael.

Don't know why but very disappointing. Im considering making extra funds available to take advantage should it fall to 55 - 60 pence range as this looks next support level. This is looking v. cheap to me.

I like to cast my eye over the RNS's from big TRAK customers. Here's a piece from the AA's Interim Report. "Work is already underway to assess these and establish priorities for investment that will drive tangible growth in revenue and realise cost efficiencies. At the core of these plans will be investment in technology and systems designed to improve significantly the customer experience, particularly in the digital environment. Over the course of the next few months the buy-in team will quantify the investment required and the time scale necessary to achieve the anticipated results. These findings will be incorporated in a wider strategy review and vision that will be communicated to investors in advance of the publication of the full year results to January 2015." Might be worth keeping an eye on, over the autumn.

Nice steady news flow :- hTTp://www.trakm8.com/news/trakm8-partner-with-catalina-to-enhance-their-freedom-logistics-solution "Trakm8 partner with Catalina to enhance their Freedom logistics solution Trakm8 have partnered with market leading logistics software provider, Catalina Software to provide hard wired tracking and direct data feed integration with the company’s Freedom software. Traditionally Fleet Operators have been able to track their drivers via a PDA which has been reliant on the driver keeping the device in the vehicle and switched on at all times. Catalina can now offer their customers another solution using Trakm8’s T8 telematics unit. The Trakm8 unit provides Catalina customers with an accurate and reliable hard wired tracking and vehicle information architecture to maximise security and further enhance the tracking data in Freedom. This gives the Fleet Operator the opportunity to monitor driver behaviour and reduce their fuel costs with Trakm8 ecoN. By providing real time feedback to drivers via an in-cab light bar, Fleet Operators can promote a smoother driving style to improve fuel economy and enhance passenger comfort. Philip Batten, Account Manager at Catalina Software Ltd comments, “Trakm8 have proven success within our target market and their reliable telematics units is what we need to add value to our client offering. Trakm8 have previously worked closely with executive hire companies and look forward to welcoming new fleets to Freedom and Trakm8’s SWIFT web portal.” Trakm8’s partnership with Catalina provides customers with accurate and reliable information to enhance Freedom.
