Contracts are great but if they don't generate cash they are worthless.

#1 customer advertised on QTX website is now no longer, took his telematics business to Trak8.

As I said lots of times in the past, vastly inferior product and way behind the market. Milking existing clients is the normal business there but without spending a fortune in R&D more clients will be lost as Trakm8's Roadhawk 600 is the ideal product for almost all business fleets. Trakm8 also dominated the insurance sector with Direct Line and Marmalade, making QTX retreating and giving us a largest market share.

They used to have 1 advantage: 12 month rentals while we still had long term contracts. That's now gone with Trakm8 offering a monthly SaaS service, this will pay off big time even though it destroyed last year's reporting.

Sales and profits already started to slow and my guess it won't be long before the profit warnings start in QTX, probably this time next year.

Smart money would bank these hefty profits before the bad news kick in. QTX took the easy way of not investing in expansion and R&D and will pay the price. How can their insurance product that needs a professional installer compete with self installed ones?

AA Car genie now available to 3.3m AA customers, that's all Trakm8. And it is now sold to Netherlands and Austria, soon in many more European countries so the International expansion is finally starting.

If we get another 1-2 Fleet contracts during H1 then this could shape up to be Trakm8's best year. But still early to call, we need to hear progress update first.

2 weeks left.

Reply from company to my email:

"Thank you for your email. Yes, we shall be filming the presentation given by John Watkins in its entirety as we did last year. We will also be filming parts of the Technology Roadshow and customer talks.

We shall then post this on our YouTube and social media channels for investors who cannot attend the event in person."

Well, beware of smoke screens is my advice. For example..

Monitise (MONI) had Directors from IBM and VISA involved in their PR and Roadshows. MONI's then CEO Lukies was also invited to join then PM Cameron on a trade delegation to Hong Kong or China I forget which, where Cameron infamously quoted ''booming business' at Monitise.

Not saying for a minute that sort of double edged sword is happening here, but maybe better to keep to facts and figures IMO

Amazing stuff, so they have people from Direct Line and AA to showcase their usages of our products. What a huge vote of confidence, never heard of directors of other companies showing up on partners and helping them like that. Perhaps they plan to acquire part of the company soon.

Really exciting developments brewing.

Have also a look a the roles AA have open at the moment around our product:

The Car Genie is now on TV, basically using AA money to advertise Trakm8 products. They plan to align our Fleet products (AA Fleet Intelligence) to the Car Genie approach.

Millions of customers are now open to Trakm8 products, from just a restricted pool of business fleets before. And that is replicated through Arc Europe to: ANWB(Netherlands), OAMTC(Austria), AA Ireland and FDM (Denmark).

2018 will be transformative for TRAK imo, current prices will be looked back and people will wonder how they missed this.

All else aside, the market is really ignoring this company's scale. UK's first mass market telematics device and soon to be Europe's is not a small feat. A small AIM company just opened up its product to a market potential of 20m customers who can order its product, compare that to just UK fleets in the past where every contract had to be negotiated, scrutinised and compete against others.

And that is simultaneously with contracts on the Fleet and Insurance area. I always said I am a big fan of number of devices and the more they grow the more this company's market cap seems ridiculous and more attractive as a takeover target.

The recent restructuring on both their Sales lead teams and the IT teams with a new CTO and the way they handle projects seems to be working quite well.

I have some concerns with overlap of our products in the UK (what if a Marmalade/Direct Line user wants to have the Car Genie too? Same device he already has but no way to charge them for both as it's diferent companies) but they are just beginning and as soon as our market share grows we will use our size to leverage margins.

I wonder if they're keeping the new contracts for the Trade Update date or if they will announce before that. I already bought on the lows recently so well positioned, but any new comer to this share has an excellent entry point right now.

Of course it's all public info, how else would I find it. It just takes perseverence and a experience. As I said I could be completely wrong, but I think the September update will be very interesting. My hope is it will mark the start of the turnaround.

Blondaemon - useful intel but tread carefully when broadcasting this type of info as your research is undoubtedly not public domain stuff. We do need to see more news from TrakM8. With the number of major fleet customers renewing, there's just not enough of it. That could be because the CV is not great enough, but surely a nice drop-feed through the PR would help us all feel a little better and rely less on your useful insight...

Just bought some more, my research shows at least 2 contracts of brand new clients that just rolled out our products or are about to: 1 Insurance and 1 Fleet. I think I also found a new extension contract to an existing Fleet retail client we had.

But I will hold off the details until it's certain to avoid being accused of anything, always do your own research and do not believe anyone else.

Just out of interest I thought I would seek to confirm Blondeamon's claim
that Calor Gas was a QTX customer. So important that it is one of the lead case
studies they promote on their web site. Blondeamon's assertion was perfectly correct.

As I have been saying all along, Trakm8's technology is no match for rivals.

Did you know Calor Gas UK had QTX's telematics since 2012 and abandoned it for our our tech with this contract? Somehow I don't think it will be the last client that will switch to us either, this product is just too good to ignore. State of the art camera, black box, diagnostics and route optimisation all in one.

Blondeamon - might tag along to the post AGM event and see the ADAS demo. If this is in-house algorithms - then there could be a way to sell the option based on the enhanced hardware, but could be a tough 4x per vehicle per month charge to benefit. I do hope ADAS is tried & tested and not going to soak huge amounts of development. Remember though - the OEs are always wanting to integrate this kit in production - if trak can license their apps, then that could be interesting.

Would like to see the 'Insight' product you mention - can't see that on the website - nor any mention of ADAS! Is this just a lot of smoke...?

Exactly, the 1500 Iceland devices were also recently upgraded to the Roadhawk 600. So that's 2100 devices using the new product, just barely 2 months since it was launched.

I think the potential to switch many of our existing clients to it is quite good as many will want a product that gives them dashcam HD capabilities in 4G while keeping the core telematics product the same and better as you can switch on plugins like route optimisation, diagnostics etc on demand.

What's even better is the next product their engineers work on: ADAS. The Roadhawk 600 will be enhanced with a bunch of advanced features to increase road safety: driver fatigue detection, collision detection, lane switch assistance and more.

Regarding the website: Swift is just the front end. The back office systems of these companies have APIs they connect to and get a feed of all the data they need. Swift is mainly to generate reports, schedule jobs and have an overview of the fleet not crunch data.

EmptyCup, it's not the first win for the latest model 600. From May:"The [Iceland] contract extension covers the provision of Trakm8's Route Monkey Optimisation software and updates Trakm8's Roadsense telematics with Trakm8's latest "RoadHawk 600" integrated 4G video and telematics solution, with data provided via Trakm8's latest data solution "Insight". The new contract extension will run until April 2024.

Blondeamon: "Those new products have fantastic ARPUs, calculates to around 36£/mo for each month for the next 5 years. Current average ARPU is 9£"

Looks like if the 600 are fitted sharpish, they could get at best Q4 @ £36pvpm as this may well be the first win (and desperately needed - and potentially discounted) of the SaaS model. Your ref to £9 must surely have been in the old days when they'd buy the unit and install at £100's.

Tacho dload is interesting and a good niche. Would like to see Calor seeing it integrated into their ops platform - no mention of that - so looks to be Swift with camera + tacho. They really do need to get people not so dependent on the website - would really like to see a major fleet case study where they have done something more than the traditional 'here's the website, username & password'. I might be missing something...

I'll tell them if it wasn't for the free bus, I wouldn't be able to make it from my sleeping bag in Birmingham station.

I suppose if they still ask me, they are getting desperate.
