Just noticed the Farnborough promo video on their web site.(how long has that been up ?)

Not necessarily to my taste but I understand its purpose as there are lots of people competing for attention and you have to make your point in a very short and eye catching manner.

I note that the order book is now likely to be over £45m (possibly well over) and the EBITDA for the whole year should be in the region of £4m.
if my estimates are added to the actual results over the last three years we get :-

EBITDA Order book T/o

2018E £4m. £45m. £40m
2017A £2.6m. £32m. £29.5m
2016A £1.1m. £17m. £21.4m
2015A £0.0m. £14.5m. £20.4m

My estimates are backed /based on some reasonable logic and existing information.

I consider the company to be progressing at an excellent rate and certainly progressing at a rate that should please anyone who takes the time to look at the information provided by the company.

All this being said I would still like more info but I cannot find fault with the rate at which the company is moving forward.

a "jam tomorrow" announcment is usually a sign of ...............

fill in the blanks.

although i must admit they are making progress, just not as quick as we would all like. The next one should include another good rerate to get more LTH above water here. And to avoid another share option rebalance at lower levels.

Good to see the development of multiple facets and capabilities giving TP extended reach.

The one thing that caught my attention was that some large scale opportunities are being developed hopefully significant future substantial contracts.

The paint is well and truly dry watching our share price.

This latest update doesn't give much away; certainly not much that's new, so don't expect the share price to show much movement. Agree with Cerrito that the strengthening of the sub board lays the foundation for some big future announcement; presumably about an acquisition? Also interesting that they refer to acquisition "opportunities" so, perhaps, not one big blockbuster! In the absence of any further big sales wins, we'll now have to wait until September for a more substantial financial overview.

I was pleased to read about the reference to strengthening the sun board management layer

timojelly, the original potential acquisitions didn't happen, because either the companies concerned weren't interested in being bought out, or the price was considered too high by TP.

No doubt the directors are still looking at possible add-ons but they will have to be the right ones.

Septblues,

End of July 2017.

Do you not recall the "firm placing" plus "open offer" that raised approximately £22 million, to be used for the purpose of acquisitions.

I doubt much will be happening during the summer hols but I am holding because I suspect the positive RNS's will resume after September

I see that Cohort of whom I know very little have commented on their business being impacted by delays in the Dreadnought Programme; anyone have a view as to what if any read across there is to TPG? Thanks

A number of fairly important bits of news seem to have slipped past most people.

I see that the Labour party has reaffirmed it's committment to Trident ( Andrew
Marr programme)

Our best buddies BAE have won an order to build NINE Type 26 frigates for the Australians.

As you all know our equally "best" buddies in France have the contract to build the new fleet of Australian submarines.

As TPG supplies Texvent to all RN vessels and the Micropore technology has been installed in all RN vessels the potential should be obvious.

The frigate and submarine construction looks likely to overlap and both are to be built in Adelaide.
With the recent formalisation of TPG's relationship with the French and the obvious long standing relationship with BAE things look pretty good in Australia.

Nice to see the MS unit moving on and even our rather miserly house broker is predicting an EBITDA for MS of £1.3m next year ( I think this is out of date and given the news flow I expect it to be higher)
Remember the MS unit contains the old compressor business that was posting multi million losses only a couple of years ago.

We approach the anniversary of the fund raising the following taken from the July 2017 trading statement 'the Fundraising has now completed, raising approximately £20.8 million for the Group, net of expenses, which will be used primarily to help fund the Group's acquisition programme'

To date all we have really seen is the Polaris deal and the majority of cash is still on account....whilst organic growth appears strong the acquisition programme has stumbled. Be great to get some positive news in this months trading statement on the acquisition front.

Pavey,

"...At least I don't mump and moan about the share price as I am confident that it will rise WHEN HARD FIGURES ARE PRODUCED..."

At last we agree on something! I actually suspect we agree on most things...

Agree, but sadly no independent research is being done on companies of this size since mifid2. Companies have to do a lot more promoting themselves ( small co conferences etc) and that is time taken away from running the business. For long term investors there is fantastic value at the low end of the market but patience will be required for the value to come out.
