The poor soul liked to blame other people for the companies lack of progress , clearly the problem lies with him and other Board members , Chairman / CEO is also very strange with a PLC .

Is Archer for real , he needs funding , is happy to lend the company money but wants it back just in case he fails , no sensible lender will let him have more cash on that basis , if he beliefs there is gas/oil in place then put some skin in the game , or farm out the asset and settle for a minority stake , easy.

Loan is secured against assets if I recall correctly. Dangerous for shareholders.

Jeremy , convert the loan to stock and you will find the lenders a lot more willing to help , you are showing no commitment to this drill , it's the only way with your track record.

Last week the Newtons dumped around 9 million shares , now holding 6% , looking at their other holdings it appears that luck has not been on their side , down on most .
Lets hope Jeremy comes good for them here .

There is plenty written about that well (Welwitschia-1) and the disaster it was from before the drill bit even turned

The rig was well over due, it was the rigs first well as it was a brand new rig. They had to move offsite to re-spud as the initial start to the well went wrong. They then had trouble with the BOP. The well was drilled at peak day rates and over run, costing $110m

However the deeper target was not reached which is where the Gemsbok prospect is next door in GBP's PEL29. Apparently at the time, a further $40m was required to reach that target and TRP were already over stretched, so it didn't happen

Since the Brulpadda discovery in S/Africa there has been a new concept and confirmation that the Albian/Aptian source rock runs from SA to Angola and previous wells did not reach/penetrate this target

Welwitschia-1 well was drilling into the Delta 12Bln barrel prospect which was in a block, part of the old PEL10. That block is now PEL94 and been taken over by GBP, which is in between their PEL 29 and Eco's PEL30.

What ever you think of JA, you also got to think the partners were Repsol and they thought it real enough. That was 2014 and since then more data is available and the Majors are queuing up

You pays your money and all that jazz....

Cash - apparently he didn't want to talk about "Glowing in the dark" Namibia lol. He has introduced appalling Corporate Governance, doing the Chair and CEO jobs. He has no oilfield experience anyway! All just a vanity project - or a fantasy, like Tobsha's porn novels? 50 shades of value destruction lol

No point in reading the presentation fully until they have cash or a partner. A cursory glance and this sentence in orange type caught my eye,

Farm-out process underway...

Can they???

Can they ride out long enough for one more bout of drilling in Namibia by majors?
