It will be interesting to see how this list of institutional holders changes over the coming months. At present it reflects the selling that has been going on although most of the major holders have held firm or only trimmed a minor quantity:

More like Ikea home delivery - it comes flat-packed from abroad, and you have to assemble it in situ

Storm Elsa passed through T&T yesterday for anyone wondering why they haven't yet moved extremely heavy expensive equipment along single track forest roads....

I haven't spotted a government COVID update yet but lots are now getting restless about not being able to work and earn a living.

Pro. Interesting.
I wonder if it was’insurance’ from a Fund Manager laying off insurance against a catastrophic decline in the share price
I know I considered it six months ago but did not know to go about it.
If so they covered their loss but as you say as the share price rises what now would they do ?

Late reported 113,000 buy at 87.5p on AIM. That caused the rise. Most likely a small fry shorter trying to close.

Given the big short position has not changed - so whoever laid this on is currently not closing and not increasing, looks like a speculative shorting raid (by some small fry) occurred to push the price down from 97p levels to 80p levels.

They probably are getting a bit nervous of potential news from the Cruse sometime next week and started to close their short yesterday.

However, I would estimate they short sold at least 500K of TXP to push it down - so they likely still have to buy another 350K to 400K of TXP to close the position.

So we might see some tree shakes Monday as the small fry try to fill their buy orders and close the small shorts ahead of news.

The big 9 million share short remains in place - that one is still to start to be closed...............

Nice to see some blue on this share for a change. Although there has been a scarcity of solid news recently. I'm hoping "good news on the cruze" at the Chinook or some Coho pipeline news is behind todays gains.

Seems like ages since anything remotely newsworthy has came out... Or that could just be me being an impatient tw@t?

I have a few of them Spangle.

The last one I used was when someone said there could be a lower shoulder I use the ‘must have a short leg’ line. It doesn’t quite work though as you shrug with both shoulders, but only pedants pick up on it.

It’s a curse having this sort of personality. It even irritates me that I didn’t use pendant instead of pedant, but most would miss the irony.

I have to be serious at work, so it’s an outlet.

Have a good weekend. Let’s hope we’re still in the Euros on Sunday.

An astute first post from you here. Your last activity on advfn is showing as in 2019 so we're quite honoured.

Edit always find it curious when dormant posters reappear.

Volume is reasonable, it's not exceptional. Not convinced it's a short squeeze. Also to have 8% stock on loan (assuming it's being used for shorting) doesn't smack of PI's. Not convinced that we have resolution of the long or short decision yet. Or, the 8% stock on loan is not being used for shorts (I've never understood the ins and ous of that), in which case the bulls would seem to have taken control for the moment.

============

Good post Stumpy,
Volume is not big......but as you say reasonable.

Good point re the loan stock not actually being used to short.....just took that as read.

"in which case the bulls would seem to have taken control for the moment."

Dont see this paricular move as a bull/bear fight......someone started buyin arround 8.30.....and pulled in a few buyers....FOMO.
Agreed....definately not a resolution of the long or short decision.....might even be a pump and dump by the scammmers.

June 2021 figures now out.

TXP Stock on Loan (Shorts) from Euroclear

Jan 2021____0.52%
Feb 2021____1.23%
Mar 2021____7.14%
Apr 2021____8.65%
May 2021____8.79%
Jun 2021____8.74%

So still roughly the same level.

I should make it clear as I was mistaken by this, it is actually the Stock On Loan from CREST. So all your nominee accounts, how much is being loaned out from CREST.

In the case of TXP - there was average 103M stock held in CREST in June 2021 and 8.74% on average was loaned out.

So that means the short position is around 9M shares.

So everyone, YOUR SHARES, held in CREST by your broker, may well be being loaned out (at a fee) to the shorter !!!!!

Yes, you are paying them to hold your shares and they are then loaning them out to shorters for a nice fee.

YOU SHOULD -

Contact your broker and ask them for a yes/no answer whether they loan out shares that are held on CREST.

If they say no and put it in writing, fair enough.

If they do not answer, or pint to the small print of your terms and conditions, or say yes.......... MOVE YOUR SHARES TO ANOTHER BROKER !!!!!!!!

:) :)

Lets have some fun with the barstewards !!!!!!
