Well the offer for Newcastle is £133m, valuing it higher than TTNM. The bad news is that Mike Ashley is the buyer, and he's one of the guys touted as a possible bidder for TTNM. He's supposed to have contacts with Levy, but looks like the price Levy ( Enic ) wants has priced him out !

Still a big buyer about.

Must be a statement re share price soon you'd have thought.

Seen how cheap Birmingham City (BMC) is? In the Prem now, pick up £30m for doing it - Mkt cap still just £20m. Seems way too cheap to me - Sulivan will sell out at the right price but bet that's well north of here.

Chart nicely on a support level too imo.

looks like another of those steep moves upwards brewing - got to re-test that 140p level and push for a break of it imo.

If it's in the News of the World it must be true !!!

Tottenham Hotspur are the subject of a secret £250 million bid from an as yet unnamed American organisation or individual.

The News of the World yesterday revealed that the American's interest had been made known to the current Spurs board including chairman Daniel Levy but that no deal was likely to be done.

The paper claims that any potential takeover at the club could offer the funds to resolve the club's long standing ground development dilemma and also fund a further strengthening of the playing staff to support a bid to break into the top four next season.

The potential investor currently remains a secret but could be revealed in the coming weeks.

It's a re-valuation based on the prices people are prepared to pay for other clubs. TTNM are still cheap judged on those comparisons.

Reports have now suggested that he is being targeted by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who wants to strengthen his squad in readiness to defend the Premiership crown next season, while Chelsea have also been linked to Berbatov.

Tottenham manager Martin Jol stated last week that Berbatov is not for sale.
"I have no fears - from anybody or any circumstances," said Jol.

"I don't see any reason why we should. We made a lot of profit over the last six months and we don't have to sell."

-----------

the thing is, if Man Utd and Chelsea start bidding and then the eventual price offered would be too tempting to reject... eg £25m ?..... Chelsea could go even higher

Take a look at tottenhamhotspur.com web page. Go to news, then investor relations, annual reports and click on the latest one (2006). You'll find the info you are seeking in Notes 11 (page 48) and 21 (page 56).

can some one expand on the 91,845,600 preference shares.

They are classed as "Convertible Redeemable Preference Shares".

1. what price can these be converted at ?

2. at what price were the preferance shares issued ?

3. so taking these preference shares into account, the true market cap of the TTNM at the moment is over £200m ?
