09/11/2017 20:07 | sikh: Had not forgotten and agree with you that there will be very significant pressure on the nhs but also on Totally - They will both be fighting for the same staff in many cases for point of care treatment (not sure what will happen apart from a possible deterioration of services) - Telephone services I think different training requirements I suspect and much faster to train/educate than qualified nurses - As an aside and I am not sure as to how it can be addressed - patients are getting substantially heavier and nurses (as least one that I know of) are suffering serious back injuries lifting increasingly heavy patients - OK call a spade a spade - FAT or OBESE patients , | pugugly
09/11/2017 19:42 | Pug, you forgot the Brexit risk.. when all the NHS and social care staff employed from EU leave en-mass, what will happen to the NHS???.. ;-) | sikhthetech
09/11/2017 19:30 | Political risk - Corbyn - IMO when he becomes PM (now odds on due to the total failure of "Grey May - no fire - no inspiration - minimal leadership or control" ) it seems probable he will pull most if not all contracted out services back into the NHS - He has a pathological hate of private industry - If it services the public Nationalise It. When he gets in Totally is likely (imo) to be nationalised with minimal compensation - Remember when the institutions put in their cash the political situation had not weakened so much / | pugugly
09/11/2017 17:32 | Note the important changes to CCG tendering.... integrated care... "New guidance this year for the commissioning of integrated urgent care services by the NHS will make them even more important. At present, the clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) that award contracts for the NHS can put out to tender each of the 111 helpline, urgent care and out-of hours GP services separately, which usually results in different providers for each service. Going forward, CCGs have to tender for Integrated Urgent Care Services and therefore a single organisation will be able to provide all three services. Vocare is one of only of a few companies currently approved for the entire range of urgent care, 111 and out-of-hours services. Added to its presence in most of the NHS’s operating regions, this presents a ‘massive opportunity’ for Totally." | sikhthetech
09/11/2017 17:19 | Note: "Leadership and inadequate processes and systems were at the root but Vocare£s clinical care was rated £good£ by the CQC, she points out." | sikhthetech
09/11/2017 17:14 | graham/Cumbrian, I too have been topping up recently... | sikhthetech
09/11/2017 17:13 | Porky, well spotted...More PR as promised... Bob did say the delay to the acquisition was due to extra DD before they agreed ... "And rather like the NHS, Vocare has had problems. Improvements underway In three areas the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the regulator of care services in the UK, recently marked its service inadequate while in two others there was a recommendation that improvement was needed. A red flag? Not according to Wendy Lawrence, Totally’s chief executive, who believes the CQC reports helped its own due diligence. “The CQC audits are very detailed. There should be no more surprises as it has gone over everything,” she told Proactive. Totally was not in charge when the problems occurred (it completed the acquisition two weeks ago) and Lawrence says action has already been taken to improve performance. Leadership and inadequate processes and systems were at the root but Vocare’s clinical care was rated ‘good’ by the CQC, she points out. “We have added to a solid clinical governance framework, both at managerial and director level, alongside experienced clinical managers who are used to working with CQC." | sikhthetech

09/11/2017 17:00 | Trying to help here by taking another 20,281 this afternoon. Missed the lower prices as was out walking on the hills above Ullswater and no signal! That is my absolute last purchase and now have 200k and am nearly 18k quid down so probably wish I had never heard of them! Just can't believe they would not have seen value in Volcare and the interims inferred that the two newly acquired business were performing very well with only the original small businesses under performing. With approx half the mkt cap in cash I am hoping this share has a much better 2018. Look forward to next (hopefully very positive) trading update and maybe another eps enhancing acquisition . Surely today has seen the bottom here?!! | cumbrian2
09/11/2017 16:12 | Just need to keep taking some out I guess little help from the BOD would be good again squeeze those Shorters out. | grahamwales
09/11/2017 15:51 | graham, some 70-80% are in Majority shareholder's hands... so not much freefloat and agree few shares can move the share price .. both ways... | sikhthetech
09/11/2017 12:54 | graham, so thegrass is unable to back his statement... Riverway was the same, unable to backup her statement... | sikhthetech
09/11/2017 12:28 | Large amount of institutional investors own TLY, more than I have seen on the majority of shares I have been in. | grahamwales
09/11/2017 12:12 | But you stated that Vocare had lost contracts, none of those even suggest that they have lost contracts and you seem unable to back your statement up with evidence. | grahamwales
09/11/2017 11:41 | Too many links to list. You only have to do a basic google search it’s all there to read. Shropshire Jarrow Eston Teesside OOH Wolverhampton Read the minutes from Sunderland CCG meetings - notice to finish. Currently on extension. Then there’s the Somerset issue. Ref bath gazette which you know about And all the quality issues ref CQC So when Wendy said ‘the staff have transfered’... | thegrassisgreener
09/11/2017 10:37 | Grassisgreener Have you found that link yet? Still can’t find anything where Vocare have lost contracts. | grahamwales
09/11/2017 09:28 | Wondering if these small buys are actually Vocare employees buying in, after all they should have an idea of how the company is doing better than us. | grahamwales
08/11/2017 22:08 | graham, actually, you're right... Even if some contracts are losing money, now with TLY's other services, larger footprint and more importantly with your foot in the door - Cross selling opportunities... Keep the services and grow... | sikhthetech
08/11/2017 22:00 | Again I would hope so, but price it accordingly and if they were losing money (which we don’t currently know) at a higher margin. Personally if these are not making money I believe it will be because they are not being managed correctly due to being a not for profit company rather than low margin work. This is where under the direction of Totally and their management team they can not only improve the service but increase margins by cutting out wastage and using temps. | grahamwales
08/11/2017 21:57 | In terms of footprint... These are the areas they currently cover.. | sikhthetech
08/11/2017 21:52 | graham, absolutely reputation is far more important than the money... but if any loss making contracts (assuming no CQC issues) came up for renewal, would Vocare bid for them? | sikhthetech
08/11/2017 21:49 | Sikh I would hope Totally fight as hard as they can to keep all the contracts and show they can run these services to the quality the NHS require. It’s not the money issue but the reputation that is at stake. | grahamwales
08/11/2017 21:44 | Micro/Graham, good posts.. Vocare USED to be a non-profit org and is only last year started coming through as a commercial business... I would guess that they're probably happy to lose some of the loss making contracts, they were awarded when they were a non-profit org, and concentrate on the more lucrative ones... The BoD have said that the other services, Dermatology, Physiotherapy, Clinical Health have formed the foundation for the company to build on... | sikhthetech
08/11/2017 21:21 | I’ll google them for you | thegrassisgreener |
