12/4/2018 14:40 | 12/04/2018 | 2:19 p.m. The European Commission has approved under the European Merger Regulation the acquisition by Total of a portfolio of liquefied natural gas (LNG) assets owned by Engie, both based in France. Engie's portfolio of LNG assets subject to the concentration includes LNG supply, sale and regasification contracts, liquefaction and liquefaction plant ownership and drawing rights, as well as legal entities and staff associated with these activities. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not give rise to competition concerns in light of the limited overlap between Total's and Engie LNG's activities in the wholesale supply, transportation and regasification of LNG, than the liquefaction of natural gas. In addition, the vertical relationships between Total and Engie LNG are not likely to weaken competition in the wholesale supply and regasification of LNG in the European Economic Area and in France in particular. | sarkasm

11/4/2018 18:20 | Total issues tenders for South Pars Phase 11 04/11/2018 Offshore staff TEHRAN, Iran – Total has issued tender for subcontracts for the South Pars Phase 11 gas/condensate development in the Persian Gulf. Mohammad Meshkinfam, CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Co. (POGC), told news service Shana the value of the contracts exceeds €700 million ($867 million), and that these will mostly go to Iranian contractors. The tenders covered drilling, jackets, topsides, seabed pipeline, and offshore installation. Last July, National Iranian Oil Co. (NIOC) signed an agreement for Phase 11 with Total in Tehran. Total has a 50.1% operated interest, in partnership with China’s CNPC (30%) and NIOC subsidiary Petropars (19.9%). SP11 will be developed in two phases. The first, expected to cost around $2 billion, will comprise 30 wells and two wellhead platforms connected to existing onshore treatment facilities by two subsea pipelines. Depending on the reservoir conditions as production progresses, offshore compression facilities could be added, which would be a first on the South Pars field. Since November 2016, Total has conducted engineering studies on behalf of the consortium and initiated calls for tender in order to issue Phase 1 development contracts by year-end. | sarkasm

11/4/2018 08:38 | Total SA (FP.FR) said Wednesday that it has acquired several assets in the Gulf of Mexico for around $300 million via an auction of bankrupt oil-exploration company Cobalt International Energy Inc.'s (CIEIQ) assets. The assets include a 20% interest in the North Platte discovery, which increases Total's total stake to 60% and makes it the operator of the asset, Total said. Statoil ASA (STL.OS) is the minority partner with a 40% stake. Total said it took a further 20% stake in the Chevron Corp. (CVX)-operated Anchor discovery, bringing its total participation to 32.5%. Arnaud Breuillac, Total's president of exploration & production, said Total was able to pick up the assets under "particularly attractive conditions," and the company will now look to develop the North Platte discovery.
