Tortilla Mexican Grill Takeover Rumours (MEX)

Posted on the LSE forum, massive respect to jon1234Luke Johnson just bought 1.4m shares (3.6% of the company). He took control of Pizza Express in the 90's and grew the share price 20x before selling the business. He's been involved with The Ivy, Strada, Giraffe, Gail's and more. The guy has a proven track record of successfully buying and selling restaurant businesses for decades. With the recent CEO departure, there has to be takeover noises in the city. By far the largest mexican casual dining chain in the UK and valued at sub $20m. Peanuts compared to Chipotle Mexican Grill stock in the US at $70bn valuation.

I have concluded that these are a highly probable takeover target in 2024 so have bought a slug of shares this morning and will meaningfully add to my holding if they continue to languish.
