05/10/2017 17:35 | Well after posting for years on the "M Fool" warning on the TRK failing of IVT, thought I would see if the company was still going. Cripes still on going but only just. Looks like the start of disposals has begun. TOROTRAK GROUP HAVE APPOINTED NEW ENGLAND AS THEIR ASSET DISPOSAL PARTNER IN THE REORGANISATION OF THEIR ONGOING BUSINESS hxxp://www.machinery | ivtbrokehot
04/10/2017 13:37 | While we’re on truck trials, how about this one? Trailer maker SDC, which has its headquarters in Belfast, has taken Formula One-inspired KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) technology and developed it for the road. By pressing a button in the cab, a driver can use the KERS system to help the trailer push the cab, rather than the other way round. | oliversanvil

02/10/2017 17:11 | And the mpg improvement and emission reduction, is actually just sly use of the 'stop time' when stationary with the engine stopped there are obviously no emissions or fuel usage during that time. Whereas for a comparable situation where the engine remains running, then fuel would of been used. So technically it's not really an mpg saving as such, but just a gimmick which is highly variable depending on how long you're stuck in traffic. I know this as I have a vehicle with these features and these selling points. It does save fuel and cut emissions whilst you're stuck in a traffic jam, but regarding actual mpg improvement, that is just a wild gimmick which isn't true. | apfindley
02/10/2017 17:04 | Olivers Stop start is nothing to do with anything like this. There's no kinetic. Stop start engines actually STOP. There is no kinetic motion going on. They restart the engine when the clutch pedal is depressed in manuals (or throttle pressed etc in autos). These vehicles rely on a secondary battery to provide the immediate kick to start again. So unfortunately any talk of torotrak or kers for this c3 stop start is way off the mark. | apfindley
02/10/2017 08:17 | The new Citreon C3 The inclusion of a stop-start system helps improve the fuel economy fi gure (despite the extra power) to 56.5mpg and lowers emissions to 115g/km.------ Kinetic? | oliversanvil
01/10/2017 08:59 | UK private equity firm Inflexion said funds it manages have agreed to buy out high performance transmission specialist Xtrac which supplies the motor sport and automotive industries. Xtrac supplies most of the world's top motorsport teams worldwide in both two and four-wheeled formulae from MotoGP to Formula 1TM. The British business claims to enjoy strong EBITDA growth - over 80% of its revenue is generated through exports, particularly for high performance automotive applications including hybrids and electric vehicles. | oliversanvil
29/9/2017 08:47 | A kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) is used by Sweden’s auto maker Volvo, which is working with the Swedish government and the UK’s Flybrid Automotive, part of the Tototrak Group. They’re using Flybrid’s GKN Gyrodrive hybrid technology for energy generation from a flywheel’s motion. The first full-scale trial of a rear-axle mounted flywheel in a front-wheel drive car using Tototrak’s continuously variable transmission (CVT) has shown promising results in fuel savings. 26/9/2017 13:59 | Underhill - "Perhaps VW will put in an offer?" I held TRK from the time they were spun off (from some other company) but sold 10 years ago. Had a look last night at the CEO statement as it has been several years since I had checked how they were doing. Looks like the end of the line, VW would have made an offer by now. I suppose the IP rights must be worth something. Sad end for another British company with a great product, if they had just been ten years earlier to market it could have been a winner. | losos

21/9/2017 17:31 | As I say. If I ever meet any of the BOD I will end up in jail. They have cost my family a lot. | angus17
21/9/2017 07:49 | It would be nice to mount some kind of action against Deering the liar and thief. He is down in Cornwall now living very nicely thank you very much. I for one do try the odd search in case this wretched man pop up on some other poor sods board theyd need to know what there dealing with. | tailback
15/9/2017 17:58 | Bodgit, I feel the current chairman had little left to work with after the mistakes of his predecessors, and Deering helping himself to over half a million of share holders money in his last year, in my view was tantamount to theft. But yes I know what you mean, people taking a handsome salary out of a weak business that they are supposed to be turning around, is a slap in the face. Given the current scandals over trickery on pollution targets for cars, you would think somebody would be interested, but sadly this is the UK we don't support our own technology, unlike France, Germany and the USA. I guess the AGM will be the 'over and out' speech. | lefrene
15/9/2017 10:51 | if I ever come across any of the Board past or present I will probably end up in jail. | angus17
15/9/2017 08:07 | Anyone going to the AGM ? Id go myself but my therapist thinks its a bad idea due the the violent spasms the occur when the words Torotrak and board come together. I am concerned about the well being of Nick Barter now that the fat lady has cleared her throat this particular cash cow is about to end. Poor old Nick has watched people loose their jobs investors loose everything whist still drawing a fat cheque. At least he can apply to enter the directorship hall of frame with the Phoenix four, Phil Green, John Deloren, he is certainly my c..t of the year. | tailback |
