01/9/2017 13:12 | "The Government has decided not to exercise its option to take up a shareholding in the project as provided for under Section 40 of the Mines and Minerals Act; Project development can commence at any time with no minimum spend stipulated; Royalties are payable to the Government of Botswana in accordance with Section 66 of the Mines and Minerals Act. Royalties are currently payable at a rate of 3% of gross market value." Bit obvious - why would the Gov deny itself 3% of Gross MV by taking a share in the Project, which would cost it money. It gets 3% Gross indefinitely for awarding the License, which reduces its cost of Power purchased at the output end, should the Project reach completion. Got to think this might fly next Spring assuming the Bid is successful | pottermagic2310

31/8/2017 07:16 | Just read the following too from LSE, looks like their investor relations has quoted. "The govt have the option to take up to 15% of the project at the time of award of the ML, so can't now get part of this particular project. However to get their 15%, they would have to pay 15% of the exploration costs incurred to date and of course contribute 15% of future development costs. From various discussions it seems one of the main reasons to not take up the 15% was to avoid any perceived conflict when awarding the RFP. Also they may not want to commit to the upfront capital until the CBM industry is developed further in the country. i.e. when we apply for a ML on subsequent areas they will at that point have the chance to come in on those projects and may do so. The letter from government only stated that they would not be taking up their option without explaining why so we can't say anymore on the RNS." | wheniamfree

31/8/2017 01:47 | Mining Licence Terms As announced on 21 August 2017, the Company would make a further announcement on the Mining Licence once it had been reviewed.
