15/7/2011 16:16 | Possibly picked up from a previous, but bored, supporter of the cause, but I have just bought 500k at 2.6p, which can be added to action group. | tiltonboy
10/7/2011 12:35 | tragically I think that you are right! | crazy russian
10/7/2011 12:28 | Gentlemen, I do not know what is causing the delay in resolving this scandal at TIR. But I expect it is Rowan working out what to do with his holding. Needless to add the cost of running the company, albeit largely ineffectually, falls on all shareholders. It also occurs to me that the directors are so venal that they think that provided they tough it out the protestors will go away. We'll see. Simon Cawkwell | simon cawkwell
04/7/2011 12:24 | If fordtin's sheet is right - I have not checked. Then we are looking at 2.4p/shr in cash and about 1.5p/shr listed securities. They seem to be 2.75-3p in the market. I'd be seriously tempted at 2.75p but since they seem pretty illiquid I don't think I would want to pay much more than cash. DAK what the chances are that they return any of that cash to investors? 04/7/2011 11:54 | By my calculations share portfolio as at 31 March is down about 750k (all shares bar one are down - well done lads!!!!) so nav should be just over 4p - or perhaps they sold and bought assets that were going up? What chance? | alanji
04/7/2011 11:53 | topvest - I don't think they've ever announced how much they invested in Aurum Mining Plc and New World Oil and Gas Plc. If you've seen the figures anywhere let me know and I'll include them in the following spreadsheet from the thread header; based on | fordtin
04/7/2011 10:47 | From the interims in 2009: "We are very optimistic that base metal prices will firm up significantly in the first half of 2010 but not as confident on the price of gold, as an on going economic recovery may result in gold losing its safe haven appeal and probably retreat to around US$800/oz by mid 2010." Time to liquidate the portfolio and let us make our own minds up. | tiltonboy
04/7/2011 10:14 | many of their investments arewell down from preious highs e.g. Nautical, Northern petroleum, Tertiary etc etc etc , so expect NAV to be down around 3.25 - 3.50. Just a questimate !! Why dont they just wind it up as they dont seem to have a clue what to do. | curt3
03/7/2011 18:30 | Anyone worked out the NAV post Aurum Mining Plc and New World Oil and Gas Plc investments, both of which seem to be at a profit to the price invested? | topvest
02/7/2011 20:03 | well done those who have shaken things up here. Does anyone know if there are any developments in the related case of Aventine (formerly Minmet) ? which also involves Nolan and Rowan. | johnhpayne
01/7/2011 21:17 | oops ..no my mistake....sorry people. | dogwalker
01/7/2011 21:16 | this isn't much of a thread.......being 6 months out of date. | dogwalker
01/7/2011 17:10 | Simon while you are watching their expenses see if you can pin them down on 'in due course' otherwise keep it up! | crazy russian
01/7/2011 14:23 | Gentlemen, We have not yet seen the money. Cheering is suspended until then. I shall certainly be looking at the expenses incurred. Simon Cawkwell | simon cawkwell
01/7/2011 14:09 | Well done Simon, Was and any others who made it to the AGM. A result. (though I suspect they just read my Posts 173 & 178 & decided...why not!?) Seriously, well done guys - justice and commonsense will win through it would seem. | skyship
01/7/2011 12:39 | A reaction - well done - I think I'm too late to buy in MM marked price up already TIDMTIR RNS Number : 5880J Tiger Resource Finance PLC 01 July 2011 Tiger Resource Finance plc Statement re potential return of capital Tiger Resource Finance Plc ("the Company" or "Tiger") announces that its board of directors (the "Board") is currently considering a return of capital to shareholders. The Board is of the opinion that market conditions have dictated that the price of the Company's shares do not reflect the underlying value of the Company's investments and cash. In order to align the market value with the net asset value of the Company, the Board is assessing a return of capital to shareholders from Tiger's distributable reserves. A further announcement regarding this proposed transaction will be made in due course. | jlo10
01/7/2011 12:20 | Personally speaking I think some small return on capital shows how hopelessly lost the management of this company is. They cannot find any resource stock to invest in! They should wind up the whole company. - yum | yumyum
01/7/2011 12:13 | Was, Many thanks. Have a look at WTH when you get chance. A mass of assets, and some IMHO scandalous Director actions. Thanks for getting involved. | tiltonboy
01/7/2011 12:04 | tiltonboy, You will get out at a premium to the current share price. I believe, finally, that the Board has got the message. The only thing that remains to determine is the price at which we can exit and there would be no point at all to a shareholder driven buyback unless it is at close to NAV. After that, they can do what they like with the Company. WShak | wshak
01/7/2011 11:56 | To all involved in putting pressure on the TIR board, a hearty thanks. Looks like we might get some movement. Just hope it's not a token gesture. | tiltonboy
28/6/2011 11:05 | tiltonboy, Keep your BOI - I think you'll do very well. Give me a week with Tiger. WShak | wshak |
