04/3/2015 20:08 | Sp suddenly started to move. Are we beginning to discount the prospect of much improved numbers? | ygor706
04/2/2015 15:18 | Quiet is an understatement....mo Interims due mid March so would not expect much activity on the board till then....and even then unlikely to get much! | jaf111
04/2/2015 13:37 | Incredibly quiet here considering the recent move has taken the shares to an all time high. Very good solid company. Did anyone attend the Agm ? | davidosh
14/11/2014 15:06 | It was ther Agm yesterday and unfortunately I could not attend this year. Did any of you go ? It was good to see the company with a display stand at Mello2014. | davidosh
14/11/2014 10:35 | Very few people awake to the possibilities here. The Led light revolution has only just begun! | ygor706
13/11/2014 21:39 | Thanks for that CWA1. The statement is almost unique amongst companies reporting this month in that Thorpe is seemingly experiencing no unexpected weakness in its markets. | coolen
13/11/2014 15:46 | Fairly upbeat and excitable by Thorpe standards? :-) 13(th) November 2014 F W Thorpe Plc Annual General Meeting statement At the Annual General Meeting of F W Thorpe Plc, Chairman, Andrew Thorpe, will make the following statement. "Now I must say a few words in regards to prospects for the coming year. The last financial year returned to our favoured pattern with a gradual and ongoing improvement in our business volumes and with no unexpected surprises. The new year in which we currently find ourselves continues in the same vein to date and it is hoped that our fortunes will remain on this upward trend. A further reduction in traditional technology production in favour of LED is expected with a corresponding reduction in complexity within the business. This and our widening sales platform should provide us with further growth." | cwa1
04/11/2014 08:50 | A little bit of buying by PIs ahead of the Mello2014 investor show?? | jaf111
29/10/2014 09:28 | See that the Directors are using the current share price weakness to top up their share options. Small market caps are out of favour at the moment.......but that won't do on forever. | ygor706
10/10/2014 11:39 | LED industrial market to grow by nearly 30% by 2018 What the report actually says is "The analysts forecast that the Global LED Industrial Lighting market will grow at a CAGR of 29.64 percent over the period 2013-2018." That's growth by a factor of 1.2964^5 = 3.6618 over the five years - i.e. a 266.18% increase. Depending on just what dates are being talked about, somewhere between about 0.75 and 1.75 of those years of growth have already happened, so the growth being predicted from now until 2018 is less than that - a minimum of about a factor of 1.2964^3.25 = 2.3249, or a 132.49% increase. I.e. the report is definitely predicting a lot more than 30% growth by 2018! Note I'm not making that prediction myself, nor do I stand by the IMHO ridiculous number of significant figures in the report's 29.64% prediction. I'm only interpreting what the link says, not confirming it! Gengulphus | gengulphus

18/9/2014 12:37 | davidosh, which day will TFW be present at the Derby investor show? And is there a full list anywhere of what other companies are attending, and on which days? Thanks, Mayn | tmfmayn
18/9/2014 11:38 | Do not forget that pretty much a quarter of the market cap is covered by net cash here. TFW are going to be at my Mello investor show in Derby in 6-8th November which is great news if any of you want to meet the management. mello2014.com | davidosh
18/9/2014 10:40 | Yes, stellar results IMO, from a long term stellar performer. I bought a few today for the EEZY2 portfolio. TFW have compounded revenue growth at 6% since 1998 and margins have generally improved over that period. That's really a fantastic performance. Ben Graham's (2 x growth rate) +8 formula suggests a P/E of 20 would not be unreasonable. Illiquidity and big family holdings etc may put off a few but pretty good value here I think. | eezymunny
18/9/2014 10:24 | Good results this morning that will probably get lost in all the news about Scottish Independence. Interesting to hear the comments about the LED/non-LED markets and what is driving change or lack of it. No doubt in my mind that LED will eventually triumph and that there is plenty of money to be made by companies who are actively involved in managing the change.......however chaotic it may prove to be. The special divi. also helps and I'm expecting the share price to catch up some lost ground in the run up to Xmas. | ygor706
25/8/2014 12:07 | I am sure they are doing fine. They have never presented to investors before but they are going to be at my Mello investor show in Derby in November which is great news. | davidosh
23/8/2014 19:07 | Things very quiet here of late and the share price has hardly moved. We need some news but I'm still confident that the company will perform. | ygor706
16/7/2014 22:20 | Holding back the share price is one small investment trust who has been a long-term backer. However, it now appears to be taking profits. Surprisingly, given the quality of Thorpe, there does not yet appear to be an institutional buyer to mop up their holdings. In time, that balance will reverse so long as Thorpe's P&L remains healthy. The turning point could come with a boost to the dividend. | coolen
16/7/2014 10:23 | Very balanced piece hastings - completely agree regards TRT, I've high hopes for progress in street lighting. | cockerhoop
15/7/2014 08:56 | Had my eye on these for a while. Thanks for the heads up Hastings. | veryniceperson |
