22/6/2015 08:08 | There's the reason for the rise! Well done everyone who held in (and got in before 1.45) | funkmasterp12
22/6/2015 08:05 | Nice start to the day...lets see how it goes as the day progresses.......K | kumala
22/6/2015 08:04 | Take off!!!! | nigelmoat
17/6/2015 15:46 | and so the accumulation continues - 350k at 100.50, business put together by Cenkos, surprise, surprise. | bumpa33
17/6/2015 13:33 | I think the £1.85 they turned down/withdrew was ten years ago. What has happened since is pretty much stagnation in terms of T/O and profits. In respect of money values perhaps 30% below todays value. So on one hand £1.85 - not enough last time and perhaps £2.50 in todays money versus an share price of £1.00 and a weakfish hand to play from. I think £1.50 or a touch would carry the day - hence CA accumulating to secure the prize. It would undoubtedly be disappointing for most holders but that's the stock market. I very much hope I am wrong. Will Hart be part of the bid team? Its all very tightly held but CA and Hart make perfect sense to me - but working for who? Obviously they do not want to be outed as the share price would soar, not long to wait. | stud-muffin
17/6/2015 12:42 | More like £3.. | maximillian1
17/6/2015 10:19 | £2 would be sweet, pardon the pun - i can't see that personally but would love to be proved wrong. | bumpa33
17/6/2015 10:16 | Cenkos large (huge?) buyer still in tow, putting 2+2 together must surely be CA. Wondering now if that spike a couple of weeks back was perhaps to draw out sellers, creating a kinda mini gap-up which appears to have now filled. One month since Hart stepped down, no replacement yet found - or can we assume there won't be...? :) | bumpa33
17/6/2015 01:58 | In the meantime, while we wait for any news to hopefully propel us northwards, here is a link to a comparison of THT's and Hotel Chocolat's websites: THT did not come out too badly and it is nice to see that a representative from THT was the first to respond to the article. Hotel Chocolat did not miss the opportunity to reply either though. | lauders
16/6/2015 17:52 | More THT for CA! They certainly find THT rather sweet & tasty. I wonder why? Suppose we will find out one day. Just hope I am patient enough ;-) | lauders
16/6/2015 17:27 | CA now sit on 18.3%. Were we chucking out a chunky divvy and the market had mispriced the shares - Debenhams style last year then I would get an income fund going large. We are not - CA know the end game - heck they are part of it and despite the share drift I am near certain we will have news by the end of this month. £1.45 - £2.00 offer for the lot. Two weeks to see whether I am right or not. | stud-muffin
16/6/2015 10:34 | Seems to be more downside in this at the moment! I wonder what's going on? Are we getting ready for another spike upwards | sharestobuy
15/6/2015 15:33 | Talk :). Of course it may even exceed that :). There seems to be suggestions that there has been stake building which may preempt a take over bid. | hiriam007
15/6/2015 15:26 | Then why the £1.40 o £3.00 talk? | sharestobuy
15/6/2015 13:34 | Sharestobuy - Not sure anyone can possibly answer your queries! Who knows what is happening behind the scenes or the results apart from those in the know? | lauders
15/6/2015 13:09 | read the other thread. | bumpa33
15/6/2015 13:04 | Hey all, I'm a new investor to thortons and thought I'd make a discussion for all investors in thortons. I personally have watched this share for a while and have decided to buy in. I have very recently been reading this board and alot of you all feel this has huge upside, whether from £1.40 to £3.00 a share. What does everyone feel is happening for this big rise and what are the timescales you all expect for this happen? STB | sharestobuy
15/6/2015 12:49 | Time for a blue finish and continuation of that upward trend before this latest dip. I hope! Perhaps CA will be adding more here? | lauders
12/6/2015 12:02 | Agreed Bumpa The management over the years has been lacking here. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I share the view that someone is looking to bid. I indeed thought that spike was more indicative than it turns out to have been. None the less I reckon corporate news is imminent and will see around £1.40 odd placed before shareholders. | stud-muffin
12/6/2015 10:51 | Interesting watching this, that very late day spike up a week or so back with about 15 minutes left to the close was curious, almost like someone getting wind of (very) imminent news - call me a cynic. Cenkos have had a buyer of, I'm told, considerable size in tow here for weeks. Hart is technically out of the way already, CA are doing/have done what they do and very well I suspect, I think £1.40-1.60 likely but the (possibly delightful) unknown is the value attributable to that name. This is a business that's never quite lived up to the name, time for the right people to run it. | bumpa33
12/6/2015 10:15 | Teasing out the last of the stale holders. Next move up I predict. Short term target £1.17 | stud-muffin |
