csmwssk12hu if he's bought a controlling interest in the bonds and has done a deal with the banks then why bother buying the equity? He controls the company anyway at that point.

Further the RNS states that the restructuring process was ongoing. He'd have to have been inside to achieve what you are saying and in that case would be unable to buy the equity.

It's obvious to me what's going to happen here and when it does happen, just like DEB a bunch of retail holders who got excited thinking they were going to be rescued won't know what's hit them.

Jak, your missing the fact that if he takes private at say 20p per share and has bought the debt, which if he is clever he is already talking to banks and bond holders offering 30p or even 40p in the pound that is significantly more than the 20p in the pound they were getting, throw £759m into the mix and he’s bought Thomas cook for under £2bn with £750m cash to invest, if he’s good turns it around and gets 10% margins out of its £9.5bn turnover he makes £950m per year, not bad on £2bn, everyone thought Arcadia was worthless when Philip green took it over, he had his money back within 18 months imho dyor

Jack the logically choice is the turk is buying? Ask why? Unless he just wants to offer slighty better debt deal your short is in trouble. He can buy debt and control for likely 500m.

He is expert in field so believes he can turn it around. If in profit you are being silly not chosing as risk reward has changed. If you just a paid deramper then dont worry keep churning.
