I doubt they would stop shorting on any news

The shorts are banking on a debt equity swap not admin but neither will bappen

Hotels are much easeyer to control and sell extras to make money. My neighbour worked for Lufthansa and it dosent take much to take a 5 million pound jet engine out of service for a month..( need a couple of spare..or a damage shockabsorber..100000 pounds .. or some one to put the price of jet A up a little to see proffit margins start to dwindle. Add on delay claims and it make sense to let somboady else do the sweating

i would be happy with a level day. I cannot see the justification for keeping a short open if we finish level or better. Potential news of a sale any day now would really sting a shorter.

Lets not forget we also get £300m bank facility in Oct once the airline is sold hoping for a 13p finish

If they do get a good price for the airline any idea how much of that will go to paying off debt? Surely they should use most of it to expand

Can we get a strong close? Shorts could be closing in fear of a sale announcement. Big burns to be had if not and the announcement comes.

own brand hotels is the future for TC, higher profit margins and big expansion plans. Get rid of the airline buy back the seats and back to £1+ share price

Peter good job they are selling it then. We have already built 12 hotels since march and on track to hit 20 this year this is super cheap

True but its also the most profitable part of the business. We are expanding and even if turnover is 50% less and low debt levels its still cheap as it was £1.60 a yrar ago so even half of that is 80p/£1 share price is ridiculously cheap hopefully i get an email from the ceo but not holding my breath

Thomas cook needs to step back and stick to a simpler less risky model. Having your own planes are all very nice but you are at the mercy of maintenance..fuel hikes. Grounding ... etc.

it won't sell that cheap. Its a great business. TC could almost wipe out its debt with a sale.

Rmart even if it sells at ahugeee discounr from £1b to just £250m that will be enough to avoid a d4e. Obviously we will lose yhe most profitable part of the business but we are expanding. I think the airline makes 30% of the total groups revenues can anyone clarify?

listen to episode 15 https://soundcloud.com/travelweekly Airline worth £1b, TC can guarantee £100m of bookings per yr to buyer. No brainer. It will sell. Sell the airline, buy back all the seats, buyer has a guaranteed return.
