Results are due on the 5th March. Up 4.4% this morning and looks as though something is about to happen ...... just good results after upbeat trading statement - or maybe a bid?

Top Notch trading statement today, looks good for your ISA michalstone.
Your target price could be reached sooner rather than later with news like this.

a lot of talk in the past about buyouts. once got as high as 2.50 before a deal fell through. put into my ISA last year at 1.25. if it is being sold then you are looking at another 50% above todays price.

From my research the company seems sound and it has assets of nearly £2 per share. Its got be a good buy and if the price continues to slide I would think it would be a target for a takeover.

Another interesting point a few directors think their shares are good value and have purchase some recently.

Any more views?

A small decline today, which I now view as a buying oppertunity.
At 106p a buy.
Any other views on this one please.

It was suggested Whitbread have already tabled an offer of £1.70
Spoke to contact in Whitbread who told me rumours were suggesting bid for De Vere Hotels. Said he would let me know if anyone was suggesting Thistle bid still on the cards.
I will post when I have the info.
Intresting to see Thistle volume creeping up and De Vere price falling since Friday !

I sold last year at 180p and have been considering them at the 120p level. I thought they might touch their low of 105p again.
They had a For Sale sign overhead in 1998. Long saga with two prospective buyers but Brierley not happy with price. Nomura offered around 200p (from memory) but withdrew when markets nose-dived in H2'98.
They have superb properties and look good value at this level. I'm not a holder yet.
Regards, Nod
