Well let's say, further compression on the 1.40 level. This has managed to stay the right side of the 50ma since November last year and I see no sign of it breaking down soon. So long as that trend continues, retraces will be small, but it may still pay to buy them.

I've only just bought in, but is that really what you would call a retrace? It's just dipped a few percent from the recent high

EBIT is not really driven by the market as it is a factual accounting tool so I think that every $1 increase in sales price after fixed costs are deducted and covered will make a big difference to the bottom line. I agree with you that the share price will multiply when the market gets comfortable with the metals prices medium term.

The bigger EBIDA multiples will kick in when the market gets comfortable that the recent rise in PGM and Rh in particular is here to stay. If it is here to stay that is. I think the market needs a few months to get comfortable with inflated asset prices before it prices them in.

Agree as if you look at their fixed costs and deduct from variable costs it really starts to show how much of a multiplier each $1 extra income has on the bottom line.

H2 2020 was 36% - I fully expect 45-50% for H1 2021 - below I was being conservative 50% EBITDa margin and a rerate to an EV/EBITDA ratio of 3 gives an share price around 300p

The ebitda margin will be much higher all these exploding prices drop right into the ebitda

At 40% EBITDA margin (eminently achievable as last year was 28% iirc): I calculate that as £200m - a nice round figure :)Current EV/projectedEBITDA : 1.95.Industry typical figure is 4/5.A Ratio of 3 would give EV £600m Mcap ~£650m or share price £2.40A ratio of 4 would give EV £800m Mcap ~£850m or share price of £3.14Now imagine they achieve an EBITDA margin of 45% or 50% ;)

I'm hoping that when the SLP update is issued this week it makes the whole market sit up and look. They should be stunning results and Tharisa is in the same situation. (I'm invested in both for info)

Well. Having done so well with SLP have decided to diversify in this market and made my first purchase of Tharisa. Sold some Unilever that is looking a bit unsure of itself at the moment to get the available cash.

Interesting to see Investors chronicle did a very in depth report on JLP and made some THS projection as a comparison, they predict ev/operating profits of 1.6 times next year falling to 1.1 the year after! Crazy....

Fingers crossed, starting to look like it is edging back towards 150p if/when that gets broken, I'm hoping for a 30-40p run similar to the breakout from 80p. The results are scheduled for 27th May, not long now :)
