Cheers PF. Like you it looks to be a good recovery play at first glance, have added it to my watchlist for now as I need to spend some time looking at it which I don't have at present. Let's hope it is not one of those "It seems to good to be true" stocks and really is just a recovery play that has yet to be pounced upon by bargain hunters like ourselves!! A good find, let's hope it stays where it is until we can look into it further, although on your brief review above it seems worthy of a "toe in" in the short term imo. ;)

Trojan- I have gone over the last results - balance sheet etc - profit would have been £1 million but for 1 off costs. Still made £300,000. As stated huge divi - tiny debt and very strong balance sheet. It seems to good to be true which is why I was asking for views.

RNS Number:4845D Tex Holdings PLC 07 September 2007 TEX HOLDINGS PLC INTERIM STATEMENT Chairman's Statement Tex Group turnover for the six months to 30th June 2007 amounted to #17.7m - an increase of just over 5% on the comparable first half figure in 2006. Pre-tax profit totalled #582k which represents a rise of 10% over the amount recorded in the previous year. Sales in the Plastics Division were #10.1m which compares with #9.1m in 2006 - an increase of 11%. Pre-tax profit earned was #395k as against #191k in 2006: performance at Derby was steady, whilst there was a marked improvement at Barnstaple in Devon which largely accounted for the divisional year on year uplift. The plastic injection moulding market remains competitive, but both Tex companies have a significant number of client tooling programmes under development and both have recently won significant new accounts - which augurs positively for the future. The Engineering Division saw turnover largely unchanged in the first half at #4.3m, although the trading result was fractionally below breakeven as a result of contract timings. Looking forward to the second half, the expectation is for profitable trading on higher turnover, as last year. In the Boards & Panels Division, turnover at #3.3m was marginally down on the figure recorded in the first half of 2006, but profitability at #163k was better than last year due mainly to overhead downsizing which was carried through in November 2006. Across the Group as a whole, the current indications are that both turnover and profitability will be stronger in the second half with order books generally remaining firm and a number of contracts coming to maturity. The Board is proposing to pay an interim dividend of 3.5 pence (2006: 3.0 pence) which will be paid on 15th October 2007 to Shareholders on the register as at 21st September 2007.

I think this is a fair price, for now. What I'm interested in is who replaces Harrison on the Board. The foundation is looking good for the future. Debt is low and the pension issues seem to be behind them. What we need is the right person at the helm to develop new and exciting strategies.

Meadow, Recent note out from Brokerlink. It's not on the their web site but if you call them direct you should be able to get a copy. I think that might explain the recent buying. The note said that they were cheap and that the short to meduim term prospects look good. Please note that these shares shouldn't really have a full listing as virtually anyone can move that price. As I've said before majority of the shares are in long terms hands.....good luck.

Hi Cr Riv was turned off this co by speaking to a downbeat director..see his post of 28 march and my reply same day.Now 2 of the Directors have gone, hopefully one of them was Mr downbeat. If you are thinking of buying I suppose there's a chance that Harrison will sell his shares (1.74%) which might create a buying opp.The market cap is only 7.5m and with 34m t/o they should be doing better profitwise imo.

AGM statement out - looks pretty upbeat, especially for a company on a very low PE and paying a near 6% yield imo. ----------------------- Annual General Meeting - Tuesday 19th June 2007 Chairman's Update on Trading at AGM Activity levels slowed during April and May but have come back more firmly in June. Enquiries and quotations presently continue at a buoyant rate and the trading prospects for the second half appear encouraging. As always we face competition in the markets we serve, but a number of our commercial and productivity initiatives are now coming to fruition. Increasing management attention is also necessarily being applied to the supply chain, where material and component shortages have become more of an issue than in the past. We are facing up to these challenges backed up by a healthy order book and the anticipated early conversion of a number of pipeline business prospects. Mark Harrison is retiring on 19th September 2007 on reaching 60 years of age. On behalf of the Board and Shareholders I would like to thank him for his long and valued service to Tex and wish him well for the years to come. An executive search company, Tyzak Associates, has been hired to find a replacement and in due course an announcement will be made. At the same time, Panton Corbett will be standing down as a Non-Executive Director and as Chairman of the Audit Committee. Matthew Cadbury has agreed to step into his role. I would like to thank Panton for many years of loyal service to the Company and wish him well in his retirement. --------------------- CR

AGM tomorrow. If you buy now you still get the 4p final divi next week. I'd be amazed if these were paying a 4p final divi if they thought this year was that tough. Seem very cheap considering they made a big provision last year too. CR
