Back from holiday so I will have late comments on these results. I have yet to go through them with a fine tooth comb but my initial reaction is that they feel extraordinary in that commentary seems to paint everything in very bad light and yet deeper inspection suggests they are not really that bad and we could even be looking at business at usual in the year ahead. There are still signs of positive operating cashflow, a likely elimination of the pension deficit by recent market movements, costs being cut, investment made and higher order levels that could soon see profitability bounce back to previous levels with a continuation of a strong balance sheet. It's still all a bit odd, though. Lots of small oddities add up to a rather large enigma. Just what has been going on? More will follow when I have time. Are the shares still suspended on a technicality? Report and accounts usually get filed in time and ratified at an agm. The shares were suspended because they were not ready in time. Given qualifications by the auditor, and late filing, it's possible the shares might not be relisted until the accounts have been approved by shareholders at the egm. If you think about it, it's down to directors to clear the significant accounting issues with shareholders so that the market can then proceed in an orderly manner. That might not be possible before potentially market sensitive information is explained at the egm.

Yes, these new auditors deserve a medal ! Am I correct in recalling that Tex was floated by a firm of stockbrokers who ended up in big bother themselves ?

The auditors deserve great respect for the audit report. One of the most explanatory, pulling no punches I have read in over 50 years of accounts . The meetings with board must have been extremely difficult and now understand why took so long. The FCA surely cannot lift this suspension under this board.

Any competent auditor could have completely reaudited this group during period of suspension. This board has shown its complete disregard for the majority of its shareholders. We need to hear from chairman now.

Looks like the website has had a redesign to be mobile friendly. It would be nice to get some final results on it now, preferably before the interims are due!

The problem is the apparent dereliction of duty by le bas pension trustees. This in effect gives burrows family control .

The silence is very concerning. The problem is no proper corporate advisors or governance. The board has a surely compromised lawyer who can not be seen as independent advising the incumbents. Who is looking out for non related shareholders. Could see another court battle.

The statement makes it sound like things have improved and are quite strong overall. Have they had trouble meeting all the IFRS changes due to the mini-conglomerate structure? I had wondered what the effects might be, though I had not considered that they might not get accounts out in time.

What a dreadful statement. All too often pensioners are being subsidised by current working non pensioners, who often are being given less generous pensions. The chairman gave no indication of when accounts would be published .

See my post of Nov 18 regarding auditors. I wonder if they are out of their depth.
