Asda said Tuesday that it plans to hire 15,000 Christmas temps across its stores, depots and delivery services.
The U.K.'s third largest grocer by market share said that of the jobs available, 1,500 are drivers and 500 are based at its depots, with the rest across its stores.
Already a number of other grocers have announced plans to hire seasonal workers over the festive period. These include number one grocer Tesco PLC, which is recruiting 30,000 Christmas temps, Aldi U.K., which is hiring 1,500 temps and J Sainsbury PLC, which is recruiting 22,000 new seasonal workers.
