31/1/2023 08:23 | Another 1.4m buybacks bought. Buybacks seem to follow a huge trading volume without the price generally moving much. I postulate that is Citi's trading strategy that causes the huge volume. They could load the order book with a huge volume of buys and sells and pull the Sella as they get taken up, so they don't disappear too quickly. They replace any buys that are filled immediately. Wdik? I don't think stamp duty gets paid until the end of the day, so for a trader the cost is just the market spread. | helen troy
30/1/2023 20:06 | viscount1 ;-) Sooner or later the folk with issues start posting on every thread - takes a while to disconnect, which I have done now. I guess they all have various 'triggers' that set them off. Share price is quite odd - not sure where it might go next or why. | yump
30/1/2023 14:04 | Look at the volume! | helen troy
30/1/2023 13:25 | I'm old enough to remember when this board was about Tesco. | viscount1
30/1/2023 13:22 | We have no responsibility. Its all the governments fault. Nothing to do with demand. Nothing to do with the populations’ need to consume more and more. Not one single person interviewed on TV has said its tough and we’ll all have to knuckle down. Its just always someone else’s fault and whatever government is in power is a good excuse. | yump
30/1/2023 12:39 | Lidl has said it will invest £4 billion into UK food businesses this year as it pushes forward with growth plans. Lidl GB added that the move will accelerate previously announced spending plans. In 2019, the British arm of the German discount retailer committed to £15 billion of investment in the UK food industry from 2020 to 2025. | johnwise
30/1/2023 11:45 | Helen Troy Post 27976 "BTW I don't pay a penny for energy at the moment. My BG fixed price deal runs for another 14 months and the Energy support payment more than pays my monthly payment until the end of March" Christ how much "Support" from the taxpayer are you getting??? Standard Energy support payment is £67 a month odd. How on earth do you only consume £67's worth of gas/electric a month? | geckotheglorious
30/1/2023 11:43 | Helen Troy Post 27975 "I feel sorry for you going through life with those thoughts on your mind. I trust the power grid operators tasked with supplying us and relax with a carefree attitude on power supply. There are enough other things to worry about, if you wish to worry" ??? I'm self sufficient. Power grid goes down, I've got power. Ditto heating. And water. So I don't give a damn whether the power stays on, or not! Hence I am relaxed about all the current events, and alarmist prognostications about blackouts, rolling power cuts etc etc. I was merely pointing out I have little faith/trust in the muppets running the show and the majority of the country is suffering because of such. | geckotheglorious
30/1/2023 11:39 | BTW I don't pay a penny for energy at the moment. My BG fixed price deal runs for another 14 months and the Energy support payment more than pays my monthly payment until the end of March. I'm waiting to hear what will replace it. | helen troy

29/1/2023 18:44 | But didn’t you know they are making millions in profits and using it to fund mutations of Covid to achieve the “Great Reset” ? | yump
29/1/2023 15:49 | We are not going to get power cuts this winter, despite the welcoming loss of coal fired stations. I have trust in the people whose responsibility it is to deliver power to us. Relax and enjoy. | helen troy
28/1/2023 13:37 | True - its a worry that some folk might take some notice, but I had the plonker on filter before, but forgot ! Back on filter and if he's looking, I guess I have to open my eyes, smell the coffee, understand what's really happening, look at a few blogs where obscure doctors have dug out a bit of evidence for something, know that all the stuff on TV showing the icecaps melting has been faked and we didn't land on the moon and Trump is an Alien. I'll accept that last one ;-) | yump
28/1/2023 11:15 | Just use the filter button, yump like many of us have done for ages. Don't waste any time or space trying to argue with him on here. He spams several threads and never talks about investments. | keyno

24/1/2023 19:55 | Another huge volume today and Citi bought back 2m of them without pushing up the price! That's some trading algorithm they've got! I'm happy. Looking to add to my ISA in April to increase my summer tax free divi. Dyor. | helen troy
24/1/2023 09:17 | I thought the 'W' on the chart suggested a rise. 8-) | hazl |
