11/3/2021 12:14 | AJ Bell commentary - Morrisons “Strategically there are some big achievements, including the fact that its partnership with Amazon is certainly going places. Morrisons has scored another point by being a supplier to the retail giant’s new physical grocery store in London. This achievement will no doubt fuel speculation that Amazon may one day decide to acquire Morrisons, although Tesco would equally be an obvious bid target if the US giant wanted to quickly gain scale in the country." Would the UK government allow Tesco to be taken over? Look at how the French reacted when a Canadian company wanted to buy Carrefour recently. | unastubbs | |

07/3/2021 10:25 | i sympathise with long term holders, the SD has been something of a non-event with a tax headache thrown in, but from my perspective as a recent buyer post-special div (though i have held in the past) i'm quite excited by the prospects for this company. i see an enhanced eps following the reduction in sharecount and the possibility of an increased dividend. now management can focus on the core markets of UK&I. I've always been impressed with what Tesco do and feel that the nightmare of their foray to the US and other difficulties overseas is behind them. I will hold for a long while and yes maybe once the UK returns to normal this will take a dive but goodness knows everyone can see and anticipate what will happen in the summer so i don't see why the stockmarket should punish the share price. i feel that if they deliver a divi increase commensurate with the improved eps then this will re-rate upwards.
