16/4/2020 13:00 | Video with Justin King. Filmed this in late march. Justin discusses supply chains, divi's, sustainability of profits across the sector. He discusses Sainsbury's, Tesco, Ocado & Morrisons | macc1
14/4/2020 11:19 | Tesco - the answer from my brokers about the option strike prices following any special dividend is that the LSE will recalculate the forward strike prices. | alphorn
14/4/2020 10:37 | Tesco have already confirmed that they intend to use around £5 billion to pay a special dividend and also that they intend to reduce the pension deficit to the tune of £2.5 billion. This isn't supposition, it's been confirmed by the company via RNS so it's pretty pointless discussing what individuals on here think would be a "better" use of the cash. The caveat is of course that the sale completes. | ladeside
13/4/2020 20:36 | Do Aldi have preferential shopping hours for recently retired entrepreneurs (who dislike Germans) who have paid millions of pounds in Income Tax? | avatar333

12/4/2020 13:13 | 'tis just giving them back some of their share of the company, they don't have to take it in cash they can reinvest it if they think the management can make better use of it. | vaneric1
12/4/2020 09:42 | I doubt it would be Tesco shareholder approval I'd guess that as the deal is so good for the Tesco shareholders that would be a mere formality. | vaneric1
11/4/2020 19:21 | Pans, you can read that both ways in fairness. Is the shareholder approval referring to Tesco shareholders or the CP group of companies? Maybe an e-mail to IR at Tesco is required. | konradpuss
11/4/2020 18:53 | I went by note 12 on the accounts (part 1) : Completion of the disposal which is conditional on shareholder approval and customary regulatory approvals in Thailand and Malaysia | panshanger1
11/4/2020 18:52 | Jezza, Tesco would never have signed a purchase and sale agreement if it was subject to the buyer obtaining shareholder approval. Shareholder approval was in the singular and the counter party is a group of companies - 'the CP group of companies if I remember correctly. I might be wrong, however I do not in this case think I am. The bigger hurdle is regulatory approval in Thailand in my opinion. | konradpuss
11/4/2020 18:40 | Money to be made there if they complete or not - both ways. (Unless Tesco is bought out itself). | alphorn
11/4/2020 18:38 | Main concern for the sector atm is will there be pressure for a one off supermarket tax, to allow for the business rates holiday and extra revenues made?. | essentialinvestor |
