I have written an e-mail to Tesco saying that in my opinion what happened to day at the store is very dangerous and broke health and safety regulations.

With all these huge cargo trolleys, or what ever they are called in the isles it was very unsafe for any toddlers as things could have fallen out or they could have been crushed between two of them. Many of the cargo trolleys the gate was opened and they were unattended by staff.

hazl - Very occasionally. With all these big cargo trolleys up and down the isles, I would say today that my local Tesco was dangerous to the point of failing health and safety.

Tesco has begun selling 30 of Booker’s best selling items in 50 of its stores and is testing a professional caterer’s section, Chef Central, in two outlets. Booker is also benefiting from using space in some Tesco warehouses, helping it deliver food to clients more quickly in some areas.

Just returned from popping into my local Tesco, it was packed with people. Sadly half of these people were either Tesco staff with their huge cargo trolleys staking shelves or putting groceries in bags for delivery or customer pick up later which for me at least made for a terrible shopping experience.

I couldn't get to many shelves because of the huge cargo trolleys in the way which I had to move to get at the items I wanted.

Why oh why can't the shelves be re-filled when the store is closed to customers which is midnight to 8am in the morning or at least past 9pm when there are far fewer customers in the store.

Excellent Q1 results, especially Booker L4L sales up 14.3%. Well done Dave Lewis and team. Continuing the fabulous turnaround with 10 quarters of L4L sales growth. This guy is worth every penny he earns in my view. Rich

LONDON (Alliance News)

Tesco was up 2.2% after the UK's largest supermarket chain said its growth plans remain on track, as it posted like-for-like sales growth for the tenth straight quarter.

For the first quarter ending May 26, group like-for-like sales growth accelerated to 1.8% compared to 1.0% in the first quarter last year. UK & ROI like-for-like sales growth was 3.5%, compared to 2.2% a year prior.

Tesco also said it gained positive trading momentum from its acquisition of wholesaler Booker Group, which delivered like-for-like sales growth of 14.3% including tobacco and 12.4% growth excluding tobacco, driven by a strong underlying performance and new business wins.

Tesco will announce Q1 Trading Statement 2018/2019 on the 15th June. It will be strongest Statement, analysts have predicted the UK's largest grocery saw a 2.5 per cent rise in sales. The Tesco share will be up to £2.80 by Thursday.
