11/12/2017 16:19 | Personally I stopped years ago, however I know lots of very healthy people who've never smoked in their lives and who also drink very little who have contracted various cancers and also Heart disease, by the same token I also know lots of smokers who've lived to a grand old age with little health issues. You pay your money and you take your chance. As an aside, how many people do you think will contract various illness and disease attributed to the radiation effects of the constant bombardment of wifi and mobile phone usage ? Give it 10 to 15 years and they'll all be dropping like flies............ | ladeside
11/12/2017 14:04 | Anyone who smokes now after all the deaths clearly attributed to it is a bloody fool. | vaneric1
11/12/2017 13:41 | I don't know anyone who smokes that has actually bought tobacco in the UK for years. Why would you ? Scheduled flights daily to Poland with Ryanair and Wizz for under £40.00 return. Just take a suitcase over and load up on your cigarettes. 20 pack here is over £10, 20 pack in Poland is under £2.70 for the same brand. Poland are also in the EU so no limits so long as for personal use, plus of course you can combine your "fag run" with a very enjoyable City Break and even take in a Christmas market or two........... | ladeside
11/12/2017 10:12 | It seems the Far East that is the last tobacco strong hold. | loganair

11/12/2017 10:03 | Thankfully the amount of people smoking tobacco is on the decline | filmster
11/12/2017 10:02 | I am not surprised that there are no takers for p&h ,in shops there is very little profit on sales of tobacco so I assume its the same for suppliers plus its a industry on the decline. | nathdani
11/12/2017 09:51 | It seems to me P&H did a similar thing to Woolies. Woolies built their DVD distributing until it account for 60% of all DVD's distributed in the UK, P&H are by far the biggest distributors of tobacco. I note as yet no one has come forward to take over P&H tobacco distribution, no company seems at all interested in this part of their business. | loganair
11/12/2017 09:42 | You could say competition created the problem for P&H and of course bad management. | toon1966
11/12/2017 09:37 | Agreed, the difference being is that P&H no longer distribute any thing and therefore there is less competition. | loganair
11/12/2017 09:35 | Why would the CMA take another look, P&H had been in trouble for a number of years. | toon1966
11/12/2017 09:10 | Now P&H have gone bust I wonder if the competition authority will take another look at the Booker take over. | loganair
11/12/2017 01:26 | Retsius: totally agree. I am up 20% (good timing) but only wanted 10%. I have stops set should leave with a tidy profit no matter what. | shanieboy01

09/12/2017 00:37 | My local Tesco car park is usually fuller compared with other supermarket car parks nearby. There's an Aldi on one side and a Lidl on the other. It also sells fuel and has a cafe with good food. They don't. It's a busy place, taxi's in and out, and the local community services fill up there: Police, Fire Service, etc. People meet up and have a coffee, or a meal together. It's family oriented. The toilets are kept immaculate. They've got a bigger place in Kirkcaldy with even better food. It's always packed full of people shopping and eating. The HQ management have had a good kick up the bum and have got their act together. What's not to like? | davidspringbank
08/12/2017 12:11 | Never been a problem for me when in the UK. | alphorn
