15/8/2018 07:03 | Fundamental Surgery Launched in the US Tern Plc (AIM:TERN), the investment company specialising in the Internet of Things ("IoT"), is pleased to note the announcement from its portfolio company, FVRVS ("FundamentalVR"), in which it has a 18.3% holding, that it has launched Fundamental Surgery, a first-of-its-kind SaaS platform in the USA. Fundamental Surgery combines virtual reality ("VR") with cutting-edge haptics (the sense of touch) to create low-cost and scalable flight simulator experiences for trainee and qualified surgeons. The SaaS system uses a unique Surgical Haptic Intelligence EngineTM ("SHIE") which is calibrated to mimic real life sensations relating to surgical practices. Its initial U.S offering will focus on training packages within the Orthopedic Surgical disciplines. Available to order today, current procedures supported include Spinal Pedicle Screw Placement, Posterior Hip Replacement and Total Knee Arthroplasty. Further orthopedic procedures will be added during Q4 2018 with other disciplines, including general surgery and cardiovascular slated for 2019. Tern CEO, Al Sisto, said: "We are delighted to see the launch of Fundamental Surgery in the United States, which we believe represents an important next step for the company." | sweepie2
14/8/2018 22:36 | Just 1 job left. | still waiting
14/8/2018 21:56 | Invma is a key partner so would think a long term contract will be in place. | still waiting
14/8/2018 21:47 | Whatever deal they do for DA, it goes without saying that Tern need to ensure the other investee companies reliant on Keyscaler can continue to access it, and at reasonable cost. | milesy
14/8/2018 21:17 | No way Thales can allow anyone else to control a majority share of the global HSMs market ......they have taken yrs to build it and have now perfected it with keyscaler | kkrriiss2
14/8/2018 21:02 | I also think Thales are favourites but I would not dismiss the possibility of a bid from a former leader currently locked in a spiral of bad news ie. Symantec. They have a very big war chest and urgently need something to get them on the up again. Buying DA would instantly put them in a pivotal and leveraged position and it's not every day you can do that with just one purchase. | mike routhorn

14/8/2018 20:42 | Hi Tyrano no argument on importance but the 2 major areas need to give approval which hopefully they will | dave444
14/8/2018 20:40 | Dave, they certainly are but it suggests that they have provided an answer on the HSM monopoly question that has satisfied several governments already. When you look at where HSM's are strategically important eg governments, industry and finance then its every bit as important to Canada and others as it is to the US and EU. | tyrano1
14/8/2018 20:40 | Kk the European Union and USA approval are the important ones Thanks dave444 | kkrriiss2
