you still not figured out how privacy containers, blockchain and satellites fit together yet ?

Do tell? Either you can or can link to company literature that does so or you will duck.

Ellipses old news from 2019 ... vechain do IOT ... and it scales

@Kcowe. I'll take your word for it however the glaring flaw in your argument is that Vechain is not Device Authority.

Then again,

https://www.vechain.com/product/toolchain

Highly Scalable
ToolChain Developer Version provides developers with additional tools, such as powerful APIs, an SDK toolkit, detailed developer documentation, etc., to easily develop a variety of blockchain applications without having to be proficient in blockchain development.

The marketing blurb does not instil confidence in the claim. Tools, additional or not, do not imply scalability.

I did see @Andrbea having a minor moan earlier on about Device Authorities apparent failure to capitalise on their supposed early entry to the market. However it would appear that Device Authorities best and chosen option is to partner with others operating in the same field.

Perhaps we might see them making offerings based on Crypto Quantiques technology and that of Vechain.

It's a steady business they can succeed at but it is not a Unicorn.

I mention blockchain on the perfectly reasonable grounds it's on the homepage of DA's website. Perhaps you should take it up with them though, to be honest, I doubt you'll understand any explanation they give you.

For Blockchain to catch on, the concept of 'secure' data sharing is a big hurdle:

15.1.21

Moreover, there is a lack of standardization w.r.t storage and sharing of information on blockchain which also restricts inter-operability. Some of the industry initiatives like BiTA, which is a consortium of leading logistics service providers like FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc., are trying to overcome this challenge by proposing industry standards. This standardization also needs greater support from regulatory authorities. RBI has also released a paper, encouraging banking players to include blockchain in processes, and Indian banks can be seen to indulge in a lot of blockchain-centred initiatives to further improve payments, especially in areas of international and trade finance.

There are also privacy concerns surrounding the issue. Blockchain will imply sharing information among a network of players and organizations are justified to have concerns. Information on the blockchain network has to be carefully administered to monitor access and modification rights through encryption, enforcement of private key authentication, and cryptography.

@gigastacey
Stacey on IoT: This year is a big one for new ideas in IoT security: Https://ift.tt/3xrxNqS

But device-level security that scales is a tougher sell. Microsoft’s Azure Sphere was the last big new idea for securing IoT devices, but it only protects new devices....

Webinar with Microsoft
24.2.21
Some notes (Part 1):

Jon (Microsoft = MS), James (DA)
Jon: highlights the breach at NASA
The hacker stole 500MB of data. Conclusion: lack of an IoT lifecycle.
The importance of the IoT security lifecycle, threat mitigation, rotate keys,
update mechanisms.
Jon highlights clients such as NXP, STI: the secure silicon providers
Renewable security (top of slide) includes the DA icon: OS- and hardware-agnostic.
Keyscaler (KS): for device management, IoT hub security and the DPS (Device Provisioning Service).

Takeway: at the last MS/DA webinar in Oct 2020, no mention of DPS at MS.
My take, this is a new service, at scale (made possible by KS).

Brownfield device support and CA (Certificate Authority) support.
Jon: highly scalable/highly flexible. Tested, so far, on 10 million connected devices,
via the telemetry channel. Device Twin properties: tag certain parameters per device.
Methods, too, to trigger firmware updates. IoT Edge : automatic deployment and device
configuration. To roll out firmware with future (in-built) upscalability. Registries/device.
Authentication & attestation, via the CA.
James: explains how KS manages the keys and tokens, as credentiality to the devices.
PKI, key generation. Sign certificates. Renewal thereof. Revoke certificates.
Trusted, scalable. PKI provisioning of IoT devices. Also a turnkey, certificate
provisioning solution for Azure sphere devices. Key vault integration.

Webinar with Microsoft
24.2.21
Some notes (last part):

Jon (Microsoft = MS), James (DA)
Cloud scale provisioning: to scale the deployment of IoT devices, around the globe
Secure and authenticate devices. On-board step. Updates. Decomission them at failure.
DA = trust + PKI services, (James:) a mix and match service.
On the right: Azure DPS.
[Jon:] Certificates to sign. Which hub to connect to in the enrolment list. Then enrolment, eg
via enrolment groups.
Updates routed via the supply chain. How to manage the security lifecycle. During DPS, KS can hook
directly into the IoT hub, in order to upload data (credentials)

The ‘alliance’ slide:
On the left: Azure DPS & the IoT Hub
On the right: KS
Provisioning with no human intervention.
Jon (Microsoft) then talks about a customer with half a million devices, checking in every 6 months.

Listen at 43m20s
Https://www.brighttalk.com/webinar/managing-the-iot-device-security-lifecycle/

"We see DPS as an enablement tool, to get you onboard, to get to scale".
From other posters:
New KS product (??) (Security Management, specifically for MS Edge, coming soon).
And another KS feature for MS Key Vault integration, replacing HDMs, if required.
New product ‘Key Block’, coming soon?
Jon called Keyscaler ’Awesome’, at one point in the webinar. (it's at 34m34s, says Stentorian)

My key takeaway:
Jon (MS):
They (DA) are the kinda of glue' to make it possible to onboard more easily. Multiple IoT hubs, in multiple locations.

The easiest way to 'mass-provision' devices.
Remove human error by automation thru' DPS. Supports multiple locations. To leverage certificates across several entities (multitenancy).

The stranglehold that KeyScaler has over IoT is explained here. Microsoft have a DPS or Device Provisioning Service it seems that 'Enrolment' of each device is a one-by-one process KeyScaler augments Microsoft DPS with "enhanced level of control and granularity around which devices are allowed to connect to that service instead of manually enrolling them..." DA's technology patented method of Dynamic Device Key Generation technology is explained.

No other competitor has had a webinar with Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Azure Sphere on the subject of IoT device lifecycle management, since DA first did the Microsoft Channel 9 show (with Olivier Bloch and James Penney) back in Oct 2019. (video at Https://www.deviceauthority.com/microsoft). So 16 months of a collaboration, in healthcare, automotive and industrial IoT.

We've had 3 webinars with Microsoft (May & Nov. 2020) and Feb 2021 since that Channel 9 show.

And since 2019, Microsoft's earnings per quarter have rocketed from $30 bn to 41 bn. So a nice friend to have ...

Expecting a block-buster update on Tuesday or Wednesday, with all the great progress the portfolio has achieved recently.

Sisto will have to put a good gloss on things for the AGM and presentation.

Hopefully it will include an IPO or two in US..............
