05/12/2008 12:51 | IOM, how come that JP Morgan one is doing better than this? I can't bring myself to invest in any of their products as they are merely an 'arm' of the doomed corrupt Fed. Anyone know of any other non $ funds that have exposure to the China, Singapore,India Vietnam and the like? | traderx2u

12/8/2008 15:03 | JMG is a comparable investment trust (smaller and with a wider spread). However a chart comparison may give a possible indication as to whether TEM has settled after the sell-off shock. | iomhere
12/8/2008 14:38 | Thanks IOMhere Reading a little more into the NAV discount, there is an addition 1% or so in costs associated with the tender offer. As you say, it is unlikely that 30% of the assets could be sold on 1 day, so it is likely to take them some time to redeem the assets into a falling market | freda
08/8/2008 14:18 | freda I'm by no way clued up on this but it apparently depended on the prices the underlying shares could be sold at. Take heart from the current share price and its discount to nav. The plan, so I believe, was to reduce the discount for remaining shareholders! | iomhere
05/8/2008 15:27 | Hi Just received the final payment from TEM for the tender offer. The total amount was 426.83p per share. On the 13th June the NAV was 460.40p and tender price was at -4%. So 460.40 X 0.96 (4% discount) = 441.98. This is 15p different from the amount paid. Am I being stupid or can anyone else see where the difference is? | freda
03/8/2008 17:17 | you me an millions of others | lovegod

01/8/2008 18:44 | thanks dasv. perhaps a serious correction on the way. dow collapse imminent.turk lira holders will flee to franc and yen. | lovegod
01/8/2008 09:59 | "The Turkish Statistical Institute or TURKSTAT said on Thursday that Turkey's foreign trade deficit rose by 45.7 percent to 7.7 billion dollars in June. TURKSTAT also said that the Turkey's June imports rose 36.4 percent and exports rose 31 percent." Erdogan escapes:- | dasv
31/7/2008 19:07 | ANYBODY KNOW WHY THE TURKISH LIRA IS ROCKETING AND SWISS FRANC FALLING ? | lovegod
01/6/2008 18:20 | Does anyone have any suggestions for how to guess the strike-price for the buy-back? The price will lie at a discount of between 2% and 9.5% to the nav on 13th June. The mid share-price is currently at a discount of about 9.5% to nav, so the worst strike-price would give us more or less the same as if we sell our shares in the normal way (assuming the discount to nav stays the same as it is now). Presumably a lot of the pi's who want to take up the offer will not put in offers to sell of their own devising, but will opt to accept the strike price, whatever it may be. The strike price will, a fortiori, be determined by the big holders. Will they be aggressive or play safe by offering to sell at big discounts to nav? What normally happens? | hoggetwood
22/3/2008 19:25 | TEM weak. Well not surprising, have a look at the 'Select Frontier Index' ( S&P) | hectorp
13/2/2008 08:55 | 26% Brasil: 9% Russia, these guys know where the money can still be made... | hectorp
21/1/2008 19:29 | 350p wouldn't surprise me. I'm not trying to scare anyone, rather just to be prepared to hang on for some further downside. | dasv
21/1/2008 17:27 | One brave soul bought 9,833 at 383.25 at 16.20. It could prove to have been a good price to enter. | iomhere
21/1/2008 17:04 | support is around 10-20p below here , or hereabouts. | hectorp
21/1/2008 09:10 | hectorp True. But the scare factor is reflected in the fall. Fear will turn to greed so wait for the real horrors to set in. Increasing your stakes while on the way to the toilet often shows good profits. | iomhere |
