Nagnerita; I think this deal was done for the benefit of the directors.
Thers several mine projects in Slovakia, mining was big there but not know.
Emed have a low grade deep prospect there and little chance of opening again or selling to someone else. Theres another totally flooded mine at Strieborna that cann't raise funds to get working. does anybody have experience of that country?
Probably go down more before new listing, maybe 0.5p would be worth buying at that price.

Re:- "the terms of the Kremnica Mining Licence, surface extraction must commence 3 years from, and underground extraction must commence 5 years from, the date of the last effective transfer date which was 30 June 2009".

Briely. A BFS for surface mining could easily allow work to begin within that time frame provided that the previous data can be verified to the satisfaction of an independent consultant.
They might decide to work the existing faces in a small way without a report, Vassilios has the knowledge and experience to make that call. They have the previous mines drill data and plans I believe.
For deep mining they will need the information that a BFS provides to evaluate whether it is worth while at all. Surely they would only commission a BFS after they have proved the ground with drilling and assaying cores to anticipated levels.

Likewise cashola, i'm more an oilie, bought Templar to took away for the long term, i do honestly believe they will come good.

Wdurham, agree about them being between a rock and a hard place when they had to dispose of the shares. I suppose they still have a reasonable amount of VGM shares, and it's better to have something rather than nothing.

Looks like yourself and a couple of ohters on here have the experience in mining, so i will definitaley appreciate your thoughts/comments in the coming months, cheers.

Wendy - thanks. The reason I ask is that Ortac have the licenses on the following terms:

"Pursuant to the terms of the Kremnica Mining Licence, surface extraction must commence 3 years from, and underground extraction must commence 5 years from, the date of the last effective transfer date which was 30 June 2009. In the event that such works are not commenced by the required dates, which are not part of the Company's current proposed work programme, the Company will need to
seek consent from the relevant district mining office to transfer the licence to a group company."

I don't know how important this is but from what I have seen there can be delays even getting a BFS underway.

Any thoughts?

I agree with KiwiMonk re. Lenigas -IMHO, him going might add value to the share price (they should have put that bit in bold and underlined it). I bet he's been paid consultancy fees too. Anyway, I'm an oilie, never been in a mining co. before (patience please).

smarm - depends how far they've already gone. But 12-18 months if there is already a decent resource with a fair bit at measured and indicated.

A BFS, unlike what many people think, isn't just a fancy resource statement with a few extra numbers. It is a fully-costed total mining plan, encompassing everything from the size of the mineable reserve, the site for the tailings dam, the cost of any underground development and the establishment of an open pit including stripping, the cost of the plant and what it will cost to operate it - everything, right down to the tea lady's wages. It is the definitive document - ALWAYS produced by an independent third party consulting engineer - against which the banks will (or will not) lend project finance of up to 70% of the total capex requirement.

We only ever see a short summary of the findings. Hence most people think it is a trivial matter that can be done in weeks at zero cost. Not so.

It's what they can prove up that's important.
They already have 535k indicated + measured Oz - which is a good start.
No-one would bother getting involved here unless there is 1.5m to 2.5m oz.

Several other prospective licences owned, will be interesting now Lenigas has gone.
A Fresh Start - a brand new gold company with some VGM shares and a Brazilian I.O project on the backburner.
Let the guys get their feet under their new desks and I'm sure they'll be incentivized enough to turn this into a Flyer.

Wendy - assuming no change of direction, on average, how long does it take to commission and receive a BFS?

Fo77y -

Templar had no real choice about their VGM stake. Berukoff screwed most of it out of them as penalty for breach of contract because they refused to pay 6p for a stock he had deliberately sold down to a penny-ha'penny.

Worth looking up what Viso Gero actually means, and in what language.

Not a lot about Ortac on the web, but found the Tournigan website and details on the gold project.

On the face of it looks like quite a good project and more importantly quite advanced with Tournigan having completed a pre-feasibility study on the deposit that made money at $525/oz!

Hmmm, just spent the last half an hour reading the longest rns i've had to date. Difficult to predict how the share price will react to this, there are, as always, positives and negatives.

Good to see we are "expanding the portfolio" and gold is a relatively steady commodity (although off it's recentish highs). It isn't something that's going to happen overnight though, deadlines for 1st extractions are 2012,2013, 2014 but there are ways to extend these.

Looks like the Brazil project has been put on the backburner for a while, which is slightly disappointing as there was a lot of noise made about it's huge potential.

The board do seem to me that they tend to jump from one project to the next without giving any a reasonable amount of time to mature, for example if they had kept their initial % of VGM shares, they would be sitting in a somewhat more wealthier position than they are at present, and would have the assets in place to forward this 'new venture' without the need to raise (as much) cash (which it seems to me like they're going to have to do at some point).

I can't quite work out Templar, hopefully in the coming months i will have a better understanding.

I see there is a 3 way connection Lenigas is a non exec with VGM and the VGM CEO, David Paxton is a director of Ortac, very incestuous this mining fraternity.
