21/10/2021 12:56 | My purchase @ 41.35p and I see others are registering as sales !!! | hopperagain
21/10/2021 12:34 | Hmmm. Once you get down to 5% margin, placings are quite likely I think. Danger is that TGP take on more work to increase revenue at low margin and we all know that can lead to Carillion-style problems. Although early days for TGP really and presumably the BOD are not overpaid and corrupt. | yump
21/10/2021 12:15 | Well I think the issue over profitability is the key one and its not that obvious what the problem was previously - its not just recent pressures. It would be a shame if our green businesses were actually very low margin and constantly propped up by shareholders and/or government, when they are supposed to be a building block for “new UK”. If we’ve got this leading technology, where’s the nice margin ? All I can guess is that like many types of project work, there are always extra unknown costs likely to appear. Perhaps management are not great at anticipating those. Or perhaps it hasn’t reached critical mass yet. The point made about stuff wearing out for offshore windfarms is actually a positive for TGP. | yump
21/10/2021 11:56 | Its takes alot of skill, for this to stuggle, In a booming market like wind turbines etc .. Poor Management comes to mind... down 73% since January 2020... | igoe104
21/10/2021 10:48 | Enquiry book means a sales funnel or pipeline. i.e. opportunities they are working on or aware of. Of those some will not materialise, some they will no bid, some they will bid, some they will lose, some they will win etc. Preferred bidder status is encouraging but again just promises, nothing tangible. Need to be consistently winning business here to make any impact. For me an example of a UK company we should be supporting ang hoping makes it big. Given the UK's ambitions for offshore wind up to 2030 this company could play a crucial part in that transformation of the energy system. so we have a market cap of £21M. Revenues approx £35M in a 12 month period. We are running at a loss. Surely this is ripe for a turnaround or buy out. I'm holding for now and watching. I could see this go lower unfortunately but then it could be in bargain territory. | pinemartin9
21/10/2021 10:18 | What does the word "enquiry book to £359mln" mean?...sounds glossy... possible jam or empty plate?... This activity has helped to support growth in the current enquiry book to GBP359 million, an increase of 31% on that reported on 1 June 2021 of GBP273 million, in addition to an increase in preferred bidder tenders from GBP4.5 million to GBP10.4 million in the same period. | diku

21/10/2021 08:58 | Pinemartim - well put, my thoughts are very similar. Revenue slightly higher than I expected - but looks as if it included some quite low margin business. There is the possibility, likelihood even, that some of the contracts recently announced will be mainly delivering in the current year so working capital is needed now and profitability is delayed. There seems to be a read across from other marine service providers - James Fisher for example. Contracts timings have been slipping. Recovery is taking longer than expected as prime contractors and customers have not been in a hurry whilst energy prices were low - even for renewables. Recent news from Gulf Marine Services (I missed the boat there if you'll pardon the pun) is interesting as it shows that the Gulf is starting to go bonkers on opex - they had a torrid time last year and had to raise fresh capital but are now seeing big increases in utilisation, hire rates and contracts. Seems likely a busy gulf will spread into Europe after a few months as spending taps are turned back on with the higher energy prices. Will be an uncomfortable wait though. To make matters worse I ventured a topup yesterday. Arrrgh! Around 4% of my portfolio and average price just below 50p I will be considering a reckless further topup in the next few days, cheers | illiswilgig
21/10/2021 08:55 | Charts Rule OK buywell2 14 May '21 - 23:03 - 965 of 1210 Edit Mr Market is taking this steadily downwards despite the impressive list of Significant Shareholders that bought in 2018 float at 130p as shown in the header free stock charts from uk.advfn.com jonwig Perhaps you would like to show the latest list ? Here is the info: One can only assume that many from your list jonwig have contributed to the above chart shape as their names are no longer there However the financial numbers are imo the main reason why --- Without doubt there is a need for wind farms --- but electricity generation in the sea has always struck buywell a being very high risk and with high maintenance and low lifespan of component parts exposed to salt water and sea spray --- rising sea levels and worsening weather patterns/storms --- and now the added worry of terror strikes , which was never thought about until the Iraq war. Wind generation on the land makes much more sense , and even that seems risky Solar generation on land and on home roofs makes much more sense imo , wonder why the UK government stopped giving folks a few quid to get it installed ? Was it lobbying ? dyor imo | buywell2
21/10/2021 08:26 | Yes, does seem like jam tomorrow unfortunately. The top level drivers all make sense here and the offshore wind industry is booming and shall continue to do so. It seems that they are somehow failing to capitalize on this opportunity. Maybe they need a new Commercial Director, maybe its their profile, lack of industry events due to COVID who knows. Either way, talking about growth in enquiry book and increase in preferred bidder status is all very well but where is the real meat here. Guidance is now £46M GBP for the extended financial year to full year September 2021. That's not an insignificant amount of revenue. The fact we can't seem to make any profit on that turnover slightly worries me. Offshore Wind farms are getting much bigger so hopefully size of contracts and volumes should increase, assuming we can get a slice of the pie. I'm in at 53p here from May this year for my most recent purchase. If I was a brave (reckless?) man I'd buy more maybe at this level. Or I would consider an initial position. The recovery here could be rapid here when it happens... I will keep an eye open here. Currently nursing a 22% loss. My initial position only represented 3% of my overall p/f value so not a disaster. Some of the big trade shows are resuming now so hopefully Tekmar are getting out there more. It can't have been easy for them but now they need ot start to deliver. | pinemartin9

21/10/2021 08:13 | Not good enough, excuse after excuse all the time. This company always hits every bump in the road.. | igoe104
21/10/2021 08:13 | I see that cash has decreased from £3.8m at end of March to £3.5m at end of September. I would have preferred them to have given us net cash. I am going on the basis that at end of September the £3m loan facility was fully drawn down and that they had not used the trade facility. Would have been good to have had more clarity on this. Given what we are hearing from other companies for me the TU not a real surprise. | cerrito

04/10/2021 13:38 | On BBC TV recently, the virtues and growth of offshore wind were extolled, giving the impression of a large UK and international market. It is such a pity that none of this has rubbed off on TGP.Investors have only seen a declining share price that keeps on adding to their woes. | imperial3
