Would like to think so, they did say they are using UK companies.

Thanks for the link. I was wondering if tekmar is involved in the dogger bank WT build. Are they?

Yes it starts with the small caps doldrums in the summer...and the players tend to focus and play around the big caps until the autumn wobble...

Trick is trying to second-guess when the summer doldrums are over. Loads of smaller shares appear to be at the bottom of a range - or just plain bottomed out. They can't all be basket cases !

Always seemed bonkers to me that we burn something that can be turned into 1001 products.

buywell - no it is not. Net zero (2050 or whatever) is not absolute zero. Plastics, for example, will not see a decline in demand as they are essential in any activity requiring hygeinic or totally sterile conditions - like a health service. And would you fly in a hydrogen-fuelled airplane? I wouldn't. As O&G become shortage commodities, the last barrels will soar in price as countries build ever-larger storage facilities. And anyway, TGP isn't just O&G.

Fair to say contracts mainly come through Country Governments?...

yump - a combination of all of those I think. The companies where turnarounds take time and sales cycles are longer tend to suffer more as investors lose patience and chase higher risk instant reward. I am long here, still building a reasonable holding, cheers

Yump, think part of the problem is that there is just no news from this company, so much potentiol but they really need to start walking the talk, Im long in this and tempted to add but until the share price starts moving will not bother. GLA

Meanwhile, a tricky business, trying to work out if a lot of the small caps are simply suffering from a summer lull added to fairly lacklustre results and the increasing desire for instant excitement and gratification.

I've got some shares in Getech, involved in developing green Hydrogen storage. As a Chemist though, I know that Hydrogen explodes easily. I guess we're all doomed ;-) My advice to buywell is never get on a Hydrogen powered train or bus - you never know what will happen. Oppenheimer etc. etc. Me, sarcastic, with my reputation ?

BuywellThat's a terribly ill informed opinion and when stated in such a matter of fact way exposes yourself to criticism and the need for correction. How do you think the oil and gas industry has thrived? The revolution in sea faring nations was led by the move from wooden sailing vessels to iron clads. There is very little difference between floating and fixed offshore wind. In fact less metal needed for floating as no need for structures piled into the seabed. As for erosion that happens when anything is exposed to the air. Onshore or offshore. In fact erosion onshore in deserts, or particulate rich atmospheric conditions, is far far worse than offshore! Blade leading edge erosion always occurs, and yes, service strategies need to address and consider that. Corrosion would be more of a concern offshore but the oldest offshore wind farms have proven the concept and materials science has advanced considerably. In fact, floating wind by its very nature means servicing the wind turbines becomes even easier. Perhaps the turbines are brought back to shore and swapped out as part of a refurbishment or service schedule. It's a game changer. It opens up deep-water, it opens up areas where the continental shelf drops off. It enables energy generation closer to the markets and areas where energy is needed. It reduces the need for excessive grid infrastructure. Your comment was deliberately inflammatory, or at best naive. It needed pulling up. Floating wind is one of the next energy generation frontiers, its here to stay and set to boom over the next 25 years.
