Seriously though, Guident is well better than bitcoin. Worth $22K in May 18, $8m in Dec 18, $12m in May 19 and the company is not even fully operational yet.

And Salarius? Incredible rise from $923K in Dec to $2.7m in May all on the back of a few orders and taste tests.

Funny enough the one company Lucyd where you can sort of observe market success or lack thereof suffered a massive fall in value.

I really can’t understand how people think they have made over $4m profit. They have lost half a million this last six months. If TEK don’t say their holdings are worth any more in six months time they will lose another half a million. But hey if they say their holdings are worth $5m more in their opinion they will make $4m profit again

The companies are privately owned and TEK have a stake.

superg1, presumably the 'profit' is the valuation of the shares of the companies they have a stake in - hence not much cash to show for their 'profits'? They've declared $4.5m 'profit' for the last 2 years but only $1.2m cash or were they paying off debt?

Can’t believe people are getting sucked in by this $4 million profit. They have actually lost half a million in six months. It is shown as a profit because TEK have said their holdings are worth $4.8 m more. than six months ago. Pmsl.

I see the pump morons have arrived sucking in others so they can dump their buys on PIs that don't know what real profit is.

IP group played this game for years. It's fictitious money, it doesn't exist, it doesn't go into the bank account, it's just an invented number, they could have chosen whatever they like.

Cash is very low, £5 mill did not go into the bank.

Stocks everywhere under NAV

One of my biggest holdings is BILL Billing Services Group

It's 1.9-2.1p, has cash of around 3.8p, does not include working capital which is another 4-5p and has a wi-fi business and a terminally ill cellular phone business.

It's Assets are around 8p a share, sits at 2p

And I do not want anybody to buy it, wait for next results to see the NAV update.

Guidant, Salarius and Lucid are valued - by themselves - at $16.8m based on the following accounting standard:-

"Unobservable inputs are used to measure fair value to the extent that relevant observable inputs are not available, thereby allowing for situations in which there is little, if any, market activity for the asset or liability at the measurement date. An entity develops unobservable inputs using the best information available in the circumstances, which might include the entity's own data, taking into account all information about market participant assumptions that is reasonably available"

Anyone feeling tempted to make an investment based on a valuation made on that basis should go and lie down until the feeling passes.

and then you'll save yourself a few quid.

Never going to knock microsalt it's a great product for me.

This should be a good time to have a punt- After the recent Placing, we should not worry about them raising any money for at least a year. In the meantime, we hopefully should get better news on the portfolio companies e.g.more microsalt orders and regulatory clearance of the XPLOR portable oxygen concentrator.
